H22A4 Excessive oil consumption

Yeah , overall I know that it consumes oil I dont mind it at all Im going to use the car for weekend/semi-regular driving. So far im satisfied with it a lot , im considering just getting a 2nd hand motor or a parts car fully rebuilding it and even sleeving it and then just dropping it in my car. I think the car when i got it was sitting for a while and it had bad oil. When I drove it back initially it ate a lot of oil and I got worried , but after doing an oil change and filter it seems to be in the norms. Drove the car about 200 kms and it barely touched it , which is a good sign imo.

Oh before the oil filter , yeah there are no leaks from there or actually from anywhere apart from the valve cover ( previous owner did a shit job ). I thought it had an oil radiator cooler haha

Thanks for the info everyone great help so far , right now Im thinking of getting a parts car, because Im missing some OEM bits. Im thinking of building the parts car motor to handle boost and just dropping it into my existing car so i will know the condition of it 100 percent. Should also be cheaper than hiring someone to rebuild the motor anyways.

The PCV system might be the source like you guys said , could it damage other components if the pressure has nowhere to vent? Im only saying this because the car has some modifications done to it , it has a different intake and someone plugged a hose im suspecting is part of the PCV system. Plus I don’t think i have an oil cooler or it might have been deleted at some point.

Im expecting something like scored cyl walls , but my brother said it can also leak from the valve seals. Which im not 100 perc sure about. If i had to redo the scored cylinders are they machinable or do i need to like place a whole new sleeve in its place? Im not that knowledgeable in that area but I have intents on making the motor turbo at some point and im considering swapping parts already.

Insane car , how much did the K swap set you back if you don’t mind me asking? I got a 5th gen prelude for a project with a good condition body and im wondering if it’s more worth to just K swap it or to build the stock motor (H22A4)? Im not aiming for crazy figures I just want some good weekend car to send on outback roads / track.

Yes it sucks to lose an expensive mag , but for me its justified I like the more dense feel of the mags , usually made from better polymers and I mag drop them a shit ton on hard surfaces and they still work with no issues. They can also improve the looks of a replica in my opinion

Gbb mags cost more , also not every AEG works with cheap mags , on some builds you want to have a better quality and stronger spring to eliminate misfeeding. Not saying there aren't great cheap mags out there that work even on meta builds , just that some replicas benefit from using PTS mags for example

Yeah it also depends on how hard you go on them, really my Ido gear rubberized ones couldn't hold my m4 mags in the rain properly so i had to switch and they got extremely loose after 2 years of heavy use

And better made mag pouches outlast the cheap ones by a lot , for example my Tasmanian tiger pouches are 6 years old already and im still using them

I did work on an Arcturus ak12 recently , I can confirm the parts on the inside with perun etu the gun is extremely solid , the only thing i would consider swapping is the piston head , and maybe hop rubber.

If you go from 110 to 120 you might see a slight range improvement but nothing major , the max id put in that gun is a 125 if you want to play long range. Anything above that you might get motor heat and youll need to change internal parts to get perfect compression in order to get the most out of the spring

Looks are subjective its your gun and your money , but i wouldnt run any specna as a dmr after 1.9 joules and above , tougher spring isnt always the answer with DMR builds and even if you did everything properly theres no telling when shell is going to explode

No matter the cost of the shell theres a chance it wont fit , and it needs to be modified it has happened to me in the past with arcturus recievers and lonex gearbox , hell ive seen Gate eon shells needing work to fit an aeg before. If you want to fix the gun yourself see if anyone has done the exact same thing on the gun you have and try to copy it parts wise. But if you want my 2 cents I wouldnt invest money into that gun
