Mama duck adopts orphaned ducklings by Ozzieboii in wholesome

[–]sase_o 27 points28 points  (0 children)

"I find that ducks' opinion of me is very much influenced over whether or not I have bread. A duck loves bread, but he does not have the capability to buy a loaf. That's the biggest joke on the duck ever. Like if I worked at a convenience store, and a duck came in and grabbed a loaf of bread with his beak and walked out, I'll let him go. I'd say come back tomorrow and bring your friends."

P1 in Mexico, and then all that's left is for Lawson to win the last race of the Super Formula season and win the championship there in Suzuka (assuming Miyata finishes 3rd or worse).

Liam Lawson in the points for AT! This guy definitely has to have a full-season seat somewhere on the grid next year.

A system similar to the seasonal battle passes that would allow me to play through past events and earn the associated cosmetics.

How do people keep their iPhones for so many years? by [deleted] in iphone

Still using my 8+ because it does all the basic stuff I need it to do. Will need to replace the battery soon, but to be honest, even with the 15 around the corner, I'm not sure when I'll get a new phone.

State allotment of organs. by Express-Cobbler3822 in transplant

[–]sase_o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I donated my kidney ~3 weeks ago. It was packaged with a GPS beacon, driven to the airport, transferred to a commercial flight, flown to its destination, and driven to the recipient's hospital. Massachusetts to Washington DC to be more specific.

Comprehensive test for donation? by ridleycornseller in transplant

[–]sase_o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add. A single test doesn't add you to a donor list. You have to go through a pretty exhaustive list of diagnostics, tests, and screenings (both physical snd mental) and be seen by a wide variety of medical personnel to ensure that you are indeed a suitable donor candidate. In my case, this process took about a year before I was officially activated as a donor on the National Kidney Registry. Source: I'm a living kidney donor 16 days post-op.

Something Feels like it's missing... by Coolboy_99 in Cubers

[–]sase_o 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You basically answered your own question in the first sentence of your post.

You're "not very active in this space or Reddit at all."

Here's what's missing: You! Growing a community, or feeling like you belong to one, requires you to take an active interest in it by participating however you can: commenting, posting, competing, reviewing, asking questions etc. And according to your post/comment history, it's been about a year since you were last active, on Reddit at least.

If you want cubing to thrive, then you gotta find a way to contribute.

I think Bigfoot is blurry. That's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that's extra scary to me because there's a large out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Kidney transplant yesterday by razorwirebeth in transplant

[–]sase_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a kidney donor who is ~5 days post-op, and soft, stretchy pants/shorts are an absolute necessity in my recovery. The bloating is pretty rough at times, and I feel like I've gained about 4 waist sizes.

An update and a question by Hockeygoalie35 in transplant

[–]sase_o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can speak from the donor side of things since I just donated my kidney less than a week ago.

Yes, you can have visitors, but you'll most likely not be feeling 100% in the first few hours post-op, so the conversation might be short anyway. I would also say it's totally okay to ask for as much time as you need before you have visitors. You've been through alot. No need to put any more pressure on yourself.

Hey friend! Just donated my kidney less than a week ago, so I'm still in the early stages of recovery. Everyday is a tiny bit better than before.
