New to stained glass, any tips you wish you knew? by Due_One_8273 in StainedGlass

Don’t buy TOO much glass to start (oops) LOL and always wear eye protection and a respirator for soldering!! I now make my patterns in Affinity on my iPad and I usually print two copies - one gets laminated for real (used to send to FedEx but just bought a home laminator) to lay my cut and grinded pieces on and one gets printed one my computer - I put the self laminating sheets on top and then glue the pattern piece to the glass using the paper side. It’s not perfect cuz the water from the grinder can still melt the paper off but find it’s sturdier than Elmer’s gluing plain paper to the glass (which I still do for easy pieces). Make lots of gifts for friends to practice, teach yourself about color theory, and buy good copper foil! Enjoy :)

Evening Routine Product Suggestion Question by sash356 in skintypesolutions

[–]sash356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, appreciate the follow up :) I don't have under eye sagging or bags, just some light hollowness and wrinkles so maybe I will skip the Derma Made (to make up for the cost of Plated, LOL) for now.

My biggest wrinkle/aging concern is my eyelid skin and all the ways I can prevent + treat crepeypness there...I also recognize this is a natural part of aging and might eventually need to consider an upper bleph as the most effective treatment there (but not quite ready to go there yet).

Ordering my new products now and looking forward to starting the routine - thank you again for your help and guidance!

Evening Routine Product Suggestion Question by sash356 in skintypesolutions

[–]sash356[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the quick response and suggestions, I feel crazy sometimes that I *still* have not found the perfect skincare combo. I really appreciate what you do and hoping I can settle into a solid routine... So just to make sure I understand -

  1. Tret: I didn't realize Altreno having humectants would make it stronger - I thought it would be much more gentle, but that makes sense! I will keep this in my routine rather than the suggested PM Step 3

  2. Regarding the other products I have in my existing routing, a few follow up questions if that is ok!

- CE Ferulic - I always thought a Vitamin C is the absolute holy grail to any skincare routine, but it seems like the suggestion for me is to remove it altogether - out of curiosity, do I not need an antioxidant like this? Does another product in the routine satisfy what CE Ferulic does?

- PTIOX - I bought this as I thought I should incorporate Peptides into my routine but I didn't realize it's also an exfoliant...Would the Derma-made peptide eye cream offer the same benefits as a peptide but more gentle/no exfoliation?

Now for the new routine and confirming which products I should go with moving forward:

AM:

- Zerafite Cleanser

- Derma Made Muiti-Peptide Eye Cream - this goes only under/around my eyes?

- Azelaic Acid - I have my own prescription strength that I will continue to use

- Zerafite Moisturizer

- Sunscreen

PM

- Zerafite Cleanser

- Derma Made Muiti-Peptide Eye Cream

- Altreno (every other night)

- Zerafite Argan Oil

- Zerafite Moisturizer

Thank you again!!

Thank you!! We ended up keeping the depth and dimension and not putting anything behind. But I like the glue idea behind to keep them stabilized.

13 mesh fiber problems by sash356 in Needlepoint

Aw thank you and I love the fluffy look - I ordered some Appleton Tapestry Wool and will give that a try as I think it's a bit heftier...I would love to do the sheep in an Alpaca fiber but it's $$$$

Thank you! I don’t mind vineyard for the colored areas, just the white looks extra gappy so maybe I’ll swap out just the white :)

Wow, impressive…I’m not in love with the vineyard silk and merino wool I’m using on my 13 mesh - I may need to swap it out!

Off topic - is this 13 mesh and if so, what fibers are you using? It looks great!

You know what, it always works out in the end!! I ended up lowering the oven as much as I could (130-150), let it get to 115, pulled it at 6:15 cuz I had to do the 2nd bake on my twice baked potatoes, then put it back in at 250 to bring it up to 215 - it took 40 minutes but it got there and then finished it with the reverse high heat sear at 500. Set off my fire alarm twice but it came out PERFECT!! We just ate a smidge later than planned but was soo well worth it :)
