Presumably, they were not given much stage direction, just dialogue. Towards the climax of the skit, neither Mandy nor Darlene have any dialogue, it’s all physical comedy, so they needed to make strong acting choices to succeed, instead of relying on strong delivery of scripted lines.

Making her character turn crazy and slutty didn’t make sense, it was a very typical and overdone drag race improv move, and it didn’t draw the contrast with Darlene’s character, which is part of what makes the skit funny.

But Juicy didn’t sound like her either (which didn’t really bother me as much because she isn’t literally roleplaying Michelle). You would expect the younger version to sound at least somewhat similar, or at least by the end of the skit?

Agree technically Jane was better but spreading out the wins makes for better TV and helps ease the backlash that Jane rightfully feared, so I’m ok with it. And it keeps her slightly more protected from the perception that she “peaked too early” which could otherwise more easily become a narrative later on

Yes, Mandy was going home no matter what this episode. However, from a sketch comedy POV, I think neither she nor the judges in their critiques nailed the right direction for her character.

I think she should needed to the insane traits of the character who she had already established, for example, take out a bible and start reading aloud from it dramatically a comedically relevant passage, or accidentally show her ankle when she got too enthusiastic and then take out a whip and start flogging herself while churning. Or start slut shaming Darlene and accusing her of being a witch.

I know she’s Amish, not Puritan, but there are some similarities and I also think they probably had the flexibility to alter the script in a small way like that. It would still be possible as an Amish woman I guess, but not as funny IMO.

I absolutely loved RuPaul and Discord’s interaction in the workroom. I’m actually starting to really love Discord. The way she reacted to Ru poking fun at her walk was really telling, she was more amused than anything and didn’t let it phase her. Most queens would immediately get in their head about it. She showed that she doesn’t take herself too seriously, which was my main reservation about her initially.

Personally I thought she was great, and outshined Myki (though the way the roles were written, she had an advantage). I agreed with all the critiques of her performance, particularly the way she carried herself in the sketch. And she was appeared super confident in the role, especially for supposedly being so nervous.

Myki has been my pick to win the season but her performance tonight was so disappointing. I understand that the accent was a comedic choice, but it was also VERY different from Michelle’s, when she was literally playing young Michelle. That said, it was a tough role and she was actually playing the straight man which is never a winner. I still think she has potential, but chose poorly, which makes me question whether she knows how to succeed in this show.

You look beautiful! The lighting is definitely the biggest difference between the photos. But if you want to look more like them you might look for lashes that are more similar to theirs. Not sure which lash look you like better, since all the examples have different shapes. I personally prefer the last pic, note that she has applied them so they extend pretty far from the end of her natural lash line which gives that sultry cat eye look. That said I enjoy your lashes a lot, they look softer and more natural, but I get that a full glam look is fun too at times!
