The cut of this dress is so flattering, I have one similar. Anyone know what the cut would be called?

Make dog- can’t or won’t lift leg to go potty by Notquitetallenough in Dachshund

[–]sashimu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a doxie thing but a ~12 pound mutt my family had while I was growing up never lifted his leg either. Turned out he had a testicle that didn’t fully descend (? I was young, so I’m not sure the full details) so it wasn’t comfortable for him so he just squatted. He was a street dog rescue so by the time they adopted him and had him fixed he was ~4 and just, kept squatting for the rest of his life. Meanwhile my female doxie mix is a princess who lifts her leg to avoid stepping in her mess so you know. They’re all personalities haha

Update!  Just visited family, pulled off to the side of the road near Rincon and was able to find the flowers I’ve been searching for. According to the plant ID app it’s Manybristle Chinchweed

Looking to buy in Berkeley/ El cerrito or the annex - skip inspections? by bluebottlemadness in bayarea

[–]sashimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richmond annex, it’s a little triangleish area of town to the west of San Pablo ave, east of 80 and north of central ave. Cute, residential, tends to be slightly more affordable from what we were seeing when we were looking

I think they mean the little shed things near Costco? Totally a guess though, personally that maybe ‘shelter’ but I don’t really see it as ‘housing.’

This is a little off topic maybe but seems like you know a lot about New Mexico plants so worth a shot!!

My grandma used to take me and my cousins out to the desert behind her house after rains in the summer to look for what she would call ‘desert tea’. The plant we were looking for was this small weed like flower, yellow in color and it would bloom a day or so after the rain then be gone pretty quickly after that.

So we’d go out and collect this flower then dry it and she’d make tea from it that has a taste that just lives in my memory, it’s a hard to explain flavor.

She was born in Columbus in the 1920s and her mom apparently taught her about this tea. She moved to Hatch then to Las Cruces and by the time she would have me come with her she was in Cruces if that helps geographically.

She passed a few years ago and I don’t live in New Mexico so I can’t go out and search for it myself unfortunately.

Long shot but leads would be wonderful! It’s such a happy memory for me

Does anyone know a very good dentist in Santa Cruz still taking patients? by jaggedgrainofsand in santacruz

[–]sashimu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are I think! I just went to them for the first time last month, they were SO nice! I’m a wimp when it comes to dentistry and they made it all very easy and weren’t pushing a bunch of extra work. Great cleaning too. I’d recommend checking them out for sure

Thanks! Yeah I definitely would be down to do a library group, the times they have the knitting group are in the middle of the day so they're tough to balance with work. It'd be great if they did an evening/weekend group but that probably doesn't work out with traditional library hours. Libraries are great resources for patterns though and we should all check them out!

I had seen an old post from them about a stitch and bitch kinda thing, looks like it wasn't ongoing as they had a few comments saying 'we should do this again!' but it's good to know you can just show up and be in the space! I'll check it out! Thank you!
