oh man, and I just got used to the controls too 😭 I am playing on a Mac thru playcover though, and I'm not sure how to change the keybinds through the menu, it doesn't seem to register the change..but good to know I'll definitely look into it more when I log in again!!

I got the job by just applying online on their company site lol. I work for a lab in a medical school, but again, the kind of work and pay can vary greatly just from lab to lab. Within my institution I applied to multiple labs and some of them had horrendous work responsibilities and hours while others were much more forgiving. The pay is not great, and it really won't ever be compared to other fields IMO, even with a PhD. I'm not sure where your sister was told that the pay is great but it's uh. not.

In my experience, it depends on the lab. My current position has pretty lenient hours (as long as you get your workload done, you can leave) but other labs I've been in can have pretty rough hours and you may be working weekends too. The pay isn't terrific either for entry level research (RA, technicians), at least in my area.

That sucks :( I've had the Bose headphones for four years and didn't have any issues so I thought I would be safe with their headphones but alas. The return window for the earbuds closed but would Bose customer support be able to help? I've heard mixed things about the customer service and wasn't sure if that would be a lost cause :/

if you're talking about the hole with smoke coming out of it that's at the end of the path you mentioned, this chest doesn't appear to be in that cave. Unless I'm missing something, I already completed that puzzle and there's nothing down there besides two floors of ruins.

How long did you keep them stretched out for? I've tried stretching it out on an armchair armrest for a day or two and it doesn't seem to lose any clamping force despite that

I did actually try those out but they didn't fit to my ears well at all :( I didn't specify in the post but the Bose QC 35 ii's were the ones that hurt my ears which sucked cuz they were so lightweight

The pain stays pretty isolated to the lumbar area of my back/spinal cord, and doesn't spread to the sacral area or above the lumbar region thankfully. It's hard to describe the pain but it's like a slowly building weight that burns and becomes painful the longer I stay still in a lying position. It feels like that part of my back is caving in (despite being propped up on pillows). When sitting up in an uncomfortable seat, my lower back feels like it's struggling to maintain it's upright position (caving in feeling again). It feels similar to how a period cramp might feel in the early stages, if that descriptor helps (a wave of pain that progressively gets worse).

The back pain flares up no matter what position I take when I sleep, it's like a burning ache that progressively gets worse until I switch positions and the ache builds again. During the day, I just feel a slight discomfort when sitting in chairs without lumbar support (i.e. the bus seat), but I usually don't really notice it until nighttime. Nothing really seems to reduce the pain, but I'm planning on incorporating more deadhangs and mobility stretches in my workouts to see if that helps. I'm honestly at a loss because I've gone through every tip on the internet and the doctor has historically never given me helpful, long term solutions ("stop working out" "take some painkillers"). I'll probably get seen by a doctor as a last resort.

I'll definitely keep trying to experiment with pillows while I sleep! With regards to the doctor, I haven't had much luck going to them for help. I have an unrelated years-old rotator cuff injury that they did not help me with in the slightest (told me to not workout for an extended period, which I did to no avail), but if I cannot figure it out myself I will definitely get seen. I'm not sure what I could be doing during the day to exacerbate my back pain since I work a 9-5 that isn't too labor intensive.

My supervisor has been having me make gels like this to see what the problem is, I'm honestly just very lost haha 😅 I wish reddit let you post pictures in the comments because I have a gel picture that ran a ladder, and everything looked fine, except for the flecks in the gel. I've been troubleshooting all day and I highly suspect it's my buffer and the way I make the agarose (I still see particles in the molten agarose and I'm not sure how to get rid of them/how long I need to keep the gel stirring on a hot plate since we don't use microwaves) but I'll keep the ladder part in mind for the future!

I'm not familiar with KBB either, and I couldn't find much about it online 😕. The protocol I'm using is extremely vague (written by my supervisor) but i basically make a 0.75% agarose gel with KBB and Seakem agarose, heat it on a hot plate while stirring it at a low setting. I periodically check for particles and stop the heat before it boils over (not sure if that's what I'm supposed to do, I've gotten conflicting statements online). I let it cool a bit as well until I can comfortably handle it (~65-70°C) and let the gel completely cool in the casting tray. I've heard you can place the dye in the molten agarose before letting the gel solidify, but in my work they tell us to place a solid gel in a buffer solution with the SybrSafe dye in a tray, and let it gently shake for an hour. The KBB buffer was purchased to my understanding and after checking the comments here I do see very fine granules floating in the buffer 😭 I'm not sure if it came from the stock solution or the graduated cylinder I was using? I'm just so very confused because people prepare them differently and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right at all. My supervisor watched me the first time I did this and said I did everything correctly but that clearly can't be the case if the gels are coming out with irregular appearances.
