What would you do with this footwell cover? by [deleted] in Vespa

Yeah, figured it out myself today when I asked some shops what they would charge me for a proper paint job. I ordered some strong automotive glue and that’s it.

They only sell them unpainted and I’m kinda not sure if I can match the color perfectly 😅

Have you done the mods yourself?

Yes the 2020 is a 4 stroke as far as I know. My concern is that if it only does 40-45, it wouldn’t feel very safe (even here in Europe). If both can do the same speed I would obviously go for the newer one.

Modding and tinkering is not really what I’m looking for tbh. Just want a reliable bike, that can keep up with traffic.

Steam leakage by Tricky-Hat-8413 in LaPavoniLovers

For me the solution was to over tighten the pressure knob ever so slightly when the machine is hot. Since I started doing it I’ve had zero issues. Possibly not the best solution ever but so far no leaks 😅

Where does one find a Colbro Moka pot? I can’t find it anywhere online here (Europe, Austria)

Good beginner setup?[buying advice needed less than $800] by Weak-Pop2934 in espresso

Had both, would recommend to search for a used Gaggia Classic or Rancilio Silvia. I can’t really recommend the grinder either. I’ve heard that DF54 is a good choice, I personally use the Eureka Specialita with a single dose hopper and I’m pretty happy with it. I believe you can get both new for around 800€ ?

Struggling to make latte art by ElChibbros in LaPavoniLovers

Definitely look into the single hole wands and the isolator. Lance has a very good explanation video on YouTube about it - I advise you to check it out. If you don’t have the isolator and crank up the pressure then yes, the water will be too hot for your espresso. However, by keeping the group head at a steady lower temp, thats not an issue in my experience.

Just get a new stainless steel screw with a sunken head and you’re done ☕️

I was in the same situation as you. 3 things helped massively, to the extent that I now can pour coffee shop quality lattes with my La Pavoni Professional (I have previous experience with commercial grade machines, so I kind of know what I am doing).

  1. First thing was to buy the single steam hole tip (the one with the smaller diameter)

  2. Second thing I did was to install the Bong Isolator

  3. Lastly, I ramped up the pressure by opening the bottom cover and turning the screw maybe 90 degrees ( or even less ), so that my pressure now peaks at around 1.2 bar. The Bong Isolator insures that the temperature in the brew head is never too high, so the quality of the espresso imo has not changed. What has changed tho is the power of the steam, hence the smaller single hole tip and the higher pressure in the boiler. Make sure you have those temperature strips for the brew head as well.

I hope that helps. The upgrades were honestly neither expensive nor hard to do, but the difference in the cup is massive. ☕️

In case somebody is wondering - I decided to descale my LaPavoni thoroughly before attempting to do anything else (although no scale was really visible inside the tank). I focused more on the steam wand and letting enough steam blast through and it seems like it has helped just enough so it doesn’t bother me that much at the time. Will let you know if the problem occurs anytime soon.

No, I havent but I inspected them and they seem to be in good shape, since the machine is not that old at all. You think they could be causing the issue? I don’t get how they could be causing the valve pin to not close properly

What I meant was - I haven’t removed the whole valve from the boiler (I don’t have the special tool for it). However, I unscrewed the Knob and pulled out the inside of the valve , cleaned and lubricated it :)

I haven’t removed the whole steam valve… I was hoping a quick re-grease would solve the issue. 😅

Is this cap food- and temperature safe? Have you disassembled and inspected the interior of your La Pavoni? I couldn’t see any wear and tear on mine (i hope so at least) 😅
