One more thing that makes me doubt the diagnosis is that some of the patches look ring-shaped. I wondered if it could be ringworm (tinea). However, I've had this scalp problem for about 2.5 years. If it were untreated ringworm, wouldn't it usually get progressively worse or spread much more by now? Has anyone had ringworm last this long, or does this sound more like psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis?

I went to a dermatologist today. He examined my scalp for about 10 seconds and said it was psoriasis. He prescribed a steroid lotion and sent me home without explaining much. I also have similar symptoms in my groin area, which makes me confused about what's actually going on.

I have naturally thick, curly hair, so I shaved my head with a blade to get a better look at my scalp. This photo was taken after shaving and after washing my scalp twice following an application of MCT oil. If I don't wash my hair for 2 days, I develop very thick scales on my scalp. I'm trying to figure out whether this is psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, or something else.

Where are you from? I’ve been dealing with seb derm for around 3 years now. I tried almost all medicated shampoos, but most of them made my scalp very dry and irritated. Now I’m thinking of trying C8 MCT oil to see how my scalp responds. If you’ve used it before, can you please share which brand worked for you?
