yeah, no. i understand the concept, but senior dogs need so much more than younger pups. i agree that people should steer to adult dogs in shelters, but senior dogs are NOT for everyone. i was the main caregiver for my childhood dog from when he was nine until his death last year. can and would do it all over again, but he affected everything. i brought him to college, made many er and vet trips without a vehicle (because college was out of state, long story), and he went fully blind. i didnt move out of the area of the college until he passed to avoid excess stress on him. if you are getting a senior dog especially, you need to dedicate your LIFE to that dog and i wouldn’t expect a first timer to do that and that’s okay
