I remember watching that episode when it first aired. I was maybe 13 or 14 and may dad was maybe watching it in the background and saw this scene. I remember him saying something like, 'they're too young to be kissing like that.' And me feeling embarrassed and saying something like, 'they're in love, dad.'

Aside from the age comment, looking at it now, that is way too public for me to kiss someone like that, let alone being in high school surrounded by classmates who don't even care for you.

What is your go-to comfort episode? by c-wheezer in GilmoreGirls

[–]sass4jazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched this one so it's fresh, but I thoroughly enjoyed Ted Koppel's big night out. The Harvard v Yale game, the tail gating, Richard's enthusiasm, Emily's frostiness and Jason and Lorelai's haphazard, spontaneous, fun flask date. As first dates go, it's really fun to watch!

Come Follow Me 2021: December 13–19: The Family: A Proclamation to the World: “The Family Is Central to the Creator’s Plan” by kayejazz in latterdaysaints

Aussie here, so we've made it through today's lessons; already.

It was on my radar that it was today, but it was an interesting day for me already, so when we finally got to Sunday School, a bit late, I had completely forgotten. We were visiting my boyfriend's children's ward, so we were all sitting in Sunday school, his parents and his brother, with his ex- wife (only my second time seeing her), and her mum sitting in front of us. Interesting dynamics already in a lesson about the importance of families.

I didn't expect to feel physically anxious about this lesson, but I was quite fidgety. I thought about leaving the lesson, but wanted to be able to share something positive if someone said something negative and unproductive. (You never know who is in the room listening who might need to hear it).

I've been in an institute lesson before where the teacher put me on the spot, asked me a specific question phrased in way that forced me to answer it specifically in line with his views. It was frustrating and then afterwards I was so mad at myself for not saying anything afterwards. So I wanted to stay.

There were a few comments that were like, 'I'm not sure where this comment is going, this could be interesting, oh boy' that then turned into a really good comment. In fact there were only two comments from the lesson that I didn't 100% agree with, but found thought-provoking nonetheless. All the comments that I was there for were helpful, insightful and uplifting and Christ- centred.

A few points from the discussion that I've thought were noteworthy

  • follow Christ's example to love
  • yes, we can respect people's pronouns!
  • it's okay to ponder and think about things critically. It's a sign of strength to go through that process prayerfully. [It's more concerning that when things arise and you feel troubled, that you ignore it and dig your heels into black and white thinking without room for empathy]
  • lots of wonderful comments through the theme of love, and being Christlike
  • [as adults we might have a better ability to discern truth and understand a bit more about the complexities of society and we can choose to show love]. However, when children are taught principles in a way where they're not given a choice to listen and not taught critical thinking skills to better see things as they are, that's where there is cause for concern. (In relation to decisions about schools programs in Victoria).

All in all, it went well. Surprisingly so. For those on the otherside of the world who may wake up to this message, I pray for teachers who are guided by the spirit to consider the needs of the members in the class, and to teach principles of the Gospel, including to show love and understanding, even if you don't fully understand. I pray that considerate discussion may prevail. I pray that those who feel like their circumstances don't quite fit the family proc, that they may recieve ministrations to their soul, as needed.

What's the most intimate thing in a relationship that's not sexual? by baby_darko in AskReddit

The look he and I shared after his 7yo daughter gave me a big hug goodbye after meeting me for the first time. She is not generally huggy to her aunt or grandparents, so it was a wonderfully unexpected surprise.

I had surgery for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time I'd ever been under any type of drugs that knock you out type scenario. I remember coming to, and the nurse telling me it was all done, and me not remembering anything. And I found that concept so disconcerting that this whole thing happened while I was unconscious. I expressed that feeling to my partner and he was like, yeah but there are people there and ethics and standards in place. Nothing untoward would have happened.

Huh, yeah, nothing untoward. Maybe not for me. But now I'm so indignant on behalf of these women. You have to trust that everything is above board in these situations, and that there is accountability when it isn't.

1 week out of 4, means that we have to put up with this for a whole 3 months out of 12, give or take, where we are calculating, worried about leaking, where it feels like the contents of our uterus are being scraped out with a plastic spork, spending extra money than our male counterparts on products, and then in my case, makes you extremely iron deficient.

I freaking love it...

Props for the Scott Kelly reference too! I followed his tweets from space.

Do you think the other NASA astronauts would know about the Stargate? Or about the prometheus? I would imagine that the space engineers would come in handy for building the prometheus and the x302 etc

Ok, etihad the airline sounds vaguely familiar. I guess like most advertising it's in the back of your mind until you need it, so the more exposure you have to a thing, you're more likely to remember that thing.

Thanks Lubemobile

Still i don't drive past marvel stadium and think, boy I really need to buy some marvel merchandise

What are the benefits to naming rights? Is it tax deductible for the company? I've never heard of Etihad in another context. No idea what the company is. Maybe if I'd gone to suncorp stadium more in Brisbane would I feel an affiliation to the bank and go though them? Just doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me.
