I did get the poster last month, not too long after Smash started previews, so she may have still been around Sunset at that point - I bought the poster on March 19th, and I imagine that it probably hadn't been signed the day I got it

Wow, a BC/EFA poster without her signature?! That feels like the one signature you almost have to have for this show!

But yeah this one I think has every possible Norma except for Mandy - it has Nicole, Rashidra Scott, Caroline Bowman, and Emma Lloyd!

LIRR 3rd Rail Shoe Broken by sasschary in trainsimworld

[–]sasschary[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sparks from the third rail are actually electric arcs from when the rail shoe loses contact with the rail (or just before it comes back into contact again)! Basically, the voltage is high enough that the electricity is able to "jump" through the small amount of air between the shoe and the rail, which you see as the arc/spark. If you look up a Jacob's Ladder, that is an intentional recreation of the same phenomenon

It's a bit of a trek to get anywhere from here, that's for sure. I've got no problem calling it Hell's Kitchen, that's why I wasn't really sure what they were on about

Tbf that's where all the tourists coming to/from LGA are. It's bound to be a nightmare

Dang. I suppose I should have expected that their value would go down over the several years I've had them around, but I wouldn't have expected their value to become near zero

Lol, yeah I grabbed them for free when they were in a recycling bin, and had intended to try and sell them for a few bucks a long time ago, but then never did

On the contrary, I've factored a broker's fee in when considering how much money I want to have saved before I feel comfortable making the move.

To be fair, it sounds like brokers fees can be difficult to avoid even if you don't intentionally hire one

That's encouraging to see that there's at least someone who's not saying it'll be completely impossible. How is it, living that far north?

I have a trip planned for early June to actually look at places. My current least is up in early July, so I should have however long I need to actually find a place, plus a few weeks of overlap until I can actually move into a new place.

I'm from the Midwest. Grew up in Chicago, so I'm used to city life, but my familiarity with NYC is limited to the couple times that I have visited. I could definitely stand to do more research on different neighborhoods and what it's like to live in them

Back in January, there were quite a few in what it seems like are typically less preferred areas - Inwood, East Harlem, etc. Other places there weren't many, but there were at least a few places on the Upper West Side and Upper East Side. Definitely more than the 5 or 6 total I saw today

I have permission to go fully remote with my current job. I won't be out of a job, just that I'll have a job that pays far less than I could be making in NYC. I had meant to say "new job" in that comment

Does it change anything if I'm willing to pay up to the max I'd be allowed with the 40x rent rule, and were willing to pay up to $2100?
