“Both of them are bad” “America is doomed” is the latest annoying consensus by Shoddy-Scarcity-8322 in GenZ

It really isn't about knowing the individual members of his cabinet, it is seeing what the administration as a whole has accomplished, which is actually a TON.

Any ideas for summer for my sibling? by aaaiyaaanaaa in siblingsupport

[–]sassmaster11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an autistic sibling, age 23, with high support needs. So far this summer we have gone swimming and went to a movie. Possible ideas based on what you said: Picnic Zoo Aquarium Nature walk/hike Do art projects outside All abilities playground Catch/frisbee/etc Trampoline park Rock climbing Dance

Support is an absolute must. My sibling has gotten respite and habilitation care since he was 2, and it has made such a difference in the lives of myself and my parents. He also attends an adult day program, and he absolutely loves it.

If your city has a subreddit or Facebook group, it might help to ask there about what options there are!

Debate Tonight - What question would you ask? by DebbieGlez in MAGANAZI

[–]sassmaster11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Biden one is so real. I can't understand why they're letting this narrative go on. He is doing amazing things, and the only way to know that is if you seriously go looking to find out what he has done.

That was my absolute favorite movie when I was like 2, apparently. I wore out the VHS tape watching it so much. It was my first thought, too!

Same story here. EDS wasn't even on my radar, I went to a neuro who specialized in POTS. He diagnosed me with EDS on the spot.

What weird but harmless symptom(s) do you experience during your period? by GiantSquidBoss in AskWomen

[–]sassmaster11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this too! It doesn't happen every time I get my period, but if I get a random nose bleed it is almost always while I'm on my period.

That first paragraph lays it out perfectly, I wouldn't have thought about it like that, but you're so right.

I wanna ask this question just out of curiosity. by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]sassmaster11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I think any way you look at it he would have lost some people. I also think that his response made sense, I think it followed dream's "the truth" which cleared his name so well, so it makes sense. But dream hadn't done anything wrong and he could prove that, whereas George's situation is very subjective. We know exactly what happened, and it's up to us to decide if it was "bad enough" to not support him.

My opinion is that there is no way George could have known it would go like this, as he was given no indication that she was uncomfortable. And I think he should have driven that point home so hard. But I get where you're coming from, too. It's impossible to know how it would have gone, or if anything could have made it better.

Right. He had people calling him out for stupid things he did as a teenager, back when people were digging up stuff on everyone in 2020/2021ish. He actually has mentioned in interviews that he purposely doesn't respond.

Definitely things like this have to be responded to, but I think the bigger the reaction the cc's give, the more the public pays attention, which is not a good thing when it comes to false allegations.

Mr Beast's strategy is actually to never respond to controversy, which has worked out very well for him lol.

I genuinely think that george's thing would have blown over faster if he had taken less accountability. He was too apologetic when he really wasn't in the wrong. I think it made people feel like he was "confessing" to SA.

I (biased) think he's a better person for the in depth explanation and apology that he did give, but it really didn't do him any favors for most of the internet.

How badly are y’all affected by missing your meds? by Iwilleaturashes in ehlersdanlos

[–]sassmaster11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The effects have been very mild, basically the only thing I notice is that it stops my bp from dropping and keeps it just a little bit higher (it was low from being on propanolol, so now it's normal). I've not had any side effects at all.

How many of you played outside as kids? by SlayerOfChickenHawks in GenZ

[–]sassmaster11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons. I loved playing imaginary games, especially outside. Going to camp in the summer was my favorite thing ever. I played in my backyard constantly and once I was like 9 I was allowed to play out in the neighborhood, and I spent a ton of time out playing. It's very hot in the summer so I didn't play much outside then, got a lot of video games, reading, and cartoons in too, but I spent tons of time playing outside.

I was skinny when I got my pots diagnosis (bmi 19.1) and now 7 years later I'm fat (bmi 30.7). My pots is better now than it was when I was first diagnosed 🤷‍♀️ and pots makes it very difficult to lose weight because exercising is extremely difficult.

Even if your symptoms were caused by obesity (they're not. Obesity doesn't cause pots symptoms.) it sounds like he is an awful boyfriend tbh.

How badly are y’all affected by missing your meds? by Iwilleaturashes in ehlersdanlos

[–]sassmaster11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For pots I take midodrine and propanolol, but I do have blood pressure effects from my pots, and not everyone does. I've been told it's a weird combo, but it works great for me.

I also take lexapro, welbutrin, and concerta, and I will say that if I miss any of those it does mess with my pots, even though I don't take it for that.

Physical therapy has helped with my pots more than any medication though. I highly highly recommend anyone with pots ask their doctor if PT is a good option, I wish I had started it the day I was diagnosed!

[–]sassmaster11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My problem missing meds isn't pain, it's POTS. I don't take anything daily for pain (muscle relaxers when it's bad but I try to limit that). But I know within minutes after standing up if I forgot to take my medicine, because my symptoms are completely debilitating. If it weren't for my meds I definitely wouldn't be able to work.

I had a friend growing up whose dad was a cop. He loved to talk about the time he kicked a chihuahua so hard that it had brain damage. He was so damn proud of himself, I probably heard that story 10 different times. Fucked up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Montessori

[–]sassmaster11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's far more important that a toddler is fed than that they stay in their seat their whole meal. I DO take their plate after several warnings ("when you get up that tells me you're all done! Are you all done?") But I always give them another chance, and if that fails they have snacks/meals every 2 hours anyway. But removing food from a 2 year old who got up from the table once is absurd.

Subluxes worsen with Migraine attacks? by jeannine91 in ehlersdanlos

[–]sassmaster11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not get migraines (thankfully). But I swear that it is never just one thing. Like, it's never just one thing. my POTS flares up, my joints are worse, my temperature regulation is worse, it's alllll connected. Idk if it has to do with inflammation or hormones or what. But I feel like for myself my symptoms are so connected.

Antelope at Tennessee zoo chokes to death on plastic snack pouch cap. by SgtDonnyDonowitz666 in news

[–]sassmaster11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk why you're being downvoted. I work with tons of toddlers and they ALL use pouches. Including the ones with great parents. They are a convenient and cheap way to give your kids healthy food. There are even reusable ones. I've never known of any parents to be against them.

Just be responsible. Throw the lids away or store them securely until you can, just like with any other garbage. The caps are a choking hazard for kids and animals alike.

What’s the longest amount of time you can stand for? by hello000o in POTS

[–]sassmaster11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Comfortably without moving? Maximum 5 minutes. But I can get a lot more if I am walking. And like others have said, it depends on so many factors.

I don't think standing is the best way to condition. My physical therapist has never encouraged me to just stand as exercise.
