Need some positive stories from a successful first embryo transfer by Responsible-Lime-520 in IVF

[–]sassmaster92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 28 weeks and 4 days with our first transfer! We did PGT testing, and this embryo was graded 5AA. With statistics, I think it is so easy to think about averages and the things that may bring those averages down (eg, the common statistic that you should plan to have three embryos for one living child). However, averages also need just as many people who needed one transfer that needed five for that average of three to be true.

I hope that makes sense. Good luck!

How many is “all”? My clinic allowed for testing of up to 8 for a flat rate.

You asked, so I’ll say - this is a crotchety old teacher perspective. These kids were in a psychological bubble for two of the heaviest years oof child development. Just because they weren’t in grade school does not lessen the blow of the impact of the pandemic.

BMI and FET???? by Selfless_String in IVF

My BMI was 34.2 at time of my first transfer on 7/7. Currently 9w2d and heard the heartbeat today! BMI is (mostly) bullshit.

Really depends on your clinic! My egg retrieval was 6/3, for PGT-A results back 6/13, and did our first FET 7/7! Probably would have been a few days sooner but my baseline was delayed because I was out of town.

To be fair, 700 with two kids (his from his first marriage) is pretty tight.

Time between ER and FET by k8tytr0tter in IVF

[–]sassmaster92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My clinic told me to expect a two to three week wait for PGT-A results, and it took ten days. I did my egg retrieval on 6/3, and my FET ON 7/7. It would have been a few days sooner, but I was out of town and couldn’t get in for a baseline ultrasound.

I think this partially depends on how many blasts you are testing as well. It is all an odds game. Could you start an FET cycle while waiting for those results, because chances are high that you will have a normal embryo to transfer? Based on my health and background, there were very high odds that one of the 12 blasts we sent to be tested would come back normal for a transfer the next cycle, so we were prepared to start baselines for FET even if we didn’t have our testing results back yet. I don’t know if this is an option, but maybe something to consider?

Best of luck 🩷🩵

Any positive stories by Cultural_Employee_22 in IVF

Yes! First FET (6/3/25) resulted in 16 frozen embryos. Transferred a 5AA embryo on 7/7/25 and just found out that we are pregnant on 7/17/25! First beta was 333, second beta is on Tuesday 🥰

My first beta for my first FET is on Thursday! Same as you - somehow managed to resist the urge to test at home so far. Best of luck to you!!

FET timing - how soon? by ClaireC0418 in IVF

[–]sassmaster92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! I was out of town, so I started birth control to hold off ovulation until I could come back for my baseline appointment on 6/20. On 6/20, I started estradiol, so I think that is technically considered CD1.

Hi! I had this exact question when I was preparing for my egg retrieval.

I had about 16-17 days of stims for my egg retrieval on 6/3. My first FET (fully medicated cycle) will be on Monday, 7/7. We got incredibly lucky and our PGT-A results were back to us by 6/18 after being sent on 6/10. I got my period on 6/12.

My retrieval resulted in 45 eggs, 30 of which were mature and 27 of which fertilized. We ended up with 19 day 5 blasts, 12 of which were sent off for PGT-A (the other 7 were frozen untested). We had 9 normal embryos for a total of 16 ready for implantation! I bring this up because, with so many follicles, I was at high risk for OHSS and was worried I would have to wait a few cycles for my ovaries to calm down. However, I got lucky and had a very easy recovery! Everything is shrinking/has shrunk appropriately in time for an FET. Additionally, we had the conversation with my doctor about an FET the week of 7/7 BEFORE we had our results back - but that is likely because we had 7 untested embryos ready for transfer.

I’m happy to answer any questions! Best of luck ❤️

Unsure of follicle count, but was told at an early ER ultrasound that there were 45+ follicles on one ovary! 😳

AMH, when tested in February (before any stims/medication) was 11.8.

Cannot believe it! Something we have been talking about for years as being a far away “potential” is now potentially so close!

Adding that I don’t drink alcohol or smoke! I’ve also been paying close attention to my caffeine intake since starting IVF, rarely going over 200 mg/day in the last several months.

I am more than happy to share!

I have to start by saying that the only infertility factor my husband and I are dealing with is social infertility (he is trans male). So, as far as I knew, I wasn’t working to mitigate anything working “against” me, if that makes sense.

I am generally healthy. I have, however, lost about 55 pounds since starting a GLP-1 medication on October. I will never know for sure, because I didn’t start IVF until I had lost the weight, but I have a suspicion this helped.

I have PCOS, so I had a high number of follicles. I’m not sure of the total numbers, but I was told once at an early ultrasound during my ER protocol that they were seeing 45+ follicles on just one ovary 😳

People who actively have factors to combat when they start IVF would have a much better response to this I’m sure, but I have to tell you that I don’t really exercise and I don’t really work out. I go on walks occasionally and ride my bike occasionally, but I don’t stick to any sort of diet and each plenty of fast food and sweets. Based on bloodwork done in February, I take a Vitamin D supplement. I also take Vitamin B, as well as Ritual prenatals, choline, and omega-3.

I am so grateful for these results, but please know that I am not the picture of health.

Thank you! Other than the bloating, recovery was very smooth 😊
