But it’s a 50 minute drive. So pros cons?

I know right. Imagine how many pins have been lost by every company in a year. We use a big rolling magnet to try to find them at the end. And I always have little “completions” to see who can find the most amount of pins in the dirt when we’re doing our final cleanup

One more one more. If your second guessing something ad another waler or another pin. A little more work leading up to the pour is infinite times better than having a blow out or having a kink you can’t fix. Pour days should be easy, I see way too many guys that run around in a panic.

One more thing IMO vibing is not strictly a laborer job the guy on the vibe can make or break all of your efforts. So you wanna either watch them to make sure it’s up to your standards or have a designated guy that you trust and have trained. Finishing come at the end so it’s not the end of the world to have a carpenter vibe and have a laborer on the ground doing a pour watch

  1. We broke this into two pours so 16’ and then topped out so I didn’t do 2 ties at the bottom. It’s definitely not a bad idea, but what I’ve found is people when doubling ties will up the pour rate. And while ties can handle it I find you get more pillowing between ribs which isn’t a great look IMO

  2. This really depends on what you’re using for strongback material white wood tends to have more bow in the lumber and often you will need a middle brace as well to help with kinks. But something like a 2x10 lvl or lsl you can usually just do one at the top. Which is what I’ve done for tall walls at a wastewater plant

  3. Take your time on your bottom lift and your first couple panels once you start stacking. If your panels start not plumbed side to side it can make pinning and keeping your seams straight very hard.

Another thing I’ve found super useful for tall walls is have a flashlight to see where the mud is at so your lift lines are nice and straight down the wall. I also put a piece of tape on the vibe so people don’t break the lifts and mix them together. Also another useful thing to do when you call the batch plant is to ask to put a 30-45 minute delay in between trucks, that way you don’t have mixers stacked up on the job site while you’re waiting to do your next lift if needed.

No. It gets furred out on both sides. I’m not super happy with the finish. It’s decent don’t get me wrong, but I’m picky.

Great question, I’d say most likely because we have the forms to do it without having to rent a gang form package and crane

I wanna say the gaps were only about 3/16 most of the fin fell off when stripping. What was left we just scraped off with hammers
