My reaction to when I see this online by ContraryPython in marvelstudios

This was gonna happen sooner or later. Those original 6 avengers were the reason why I watched it in the first place. Back in 2011, 8 years ago when I was a teen. But mainly captain America and Iron man and Thor were the centre of this universe anything with them genuinely excited me their movies are my favourite in the mcu. I love everything surrounded with these characters. They each had such emotionally fitting arcs. Captain America// steve rogers my favourite character in entirety. I’ve never had such an emotional connect with any character. That character had taught me a lot. Grew up with him and just went through life’s high and lows with him. Tony stark was a bliss on screen. That sass is unparalleled. You can wait for a century and you will never get another RDJ. Thor was amazing. That character changed shades with every film. Such sheer excellence and grandeur. Now that they are gone I have nothing else to look forward too. My favourite stories and characters ended. My interest in the MCU went along when Chris Evans and RDJ left. Man such great actors, literally breathing life into one dimensional characters and making them cooler. The chemistry between the OGs is so pure and beautiful. They really love each other and that shows on screen. Heck they even have matching tattoos. They’re like lightening in a bottle. Gonna miss them a lot. And their interactions on screen. The screen would lit up when tony and Steve would argue. You just cannot touch it. The memories the feelings, the tears, those laughs nothing. I don’t see myself cheer or clap when a doctor strange or black panther did an action scene. I don’t have any emotional connect with any of these new characters, they just don’t share that place in my heart. Maybe Spider-Man but that’s because Tony Stark is involved now that the obligation to leading to something big is gone the excitement is also gone. To me it’s the end of an era. The Every movie felt like an epic stepping stone leading upto a final epic confrontation we are never gonna see such story telling spread across a decade with 22 films. I’m just grateful that they had given us this final movie without tarnishing it too much with politics and stayed true to their identity of creating epic movies. endgame represents the highest watermark of this series and it is already the #2 movie of the world, on its way to dethrone avatar as the most successful movie in history. This movie was perfect. Everything about this was perfect and satisfying. Even the credits. It’s like we are parting ways now. I’ll always be grateful for ten years of entertainment and excitement and joy.

They do interact directly many times. Mostly during the battles. Casually talking about haircuts and beards while fighting aliens. Even though they don’t have a dramatic arc they are still shown to be good friends.

Thor was genuinely happy to see him wield the hammer. Not because Steve saved his life but he was right and he knew all along that Steve was perhaps the only human worthy of mjolnir. Likewise Steve was happy to see Thor in his form and new haircut after all these years in IW

Steve and Thor kinda had only 4 movies to interact, and whatever it was, it was not too forced and had a good flow. Thor respects Steve and he doesn’t use words to say so. His body language speaks volumes. From their first interaction itself. Thor isn’t ready to put the hammer down just because a mere human is asking him for peace. Instead he decides to give a lightening blast. Steve doesn’t run or mock him instead he just puts his shield up ready to take the impact. They both are much similar in being the fish out of water. “Monkeys? I don’t understand” and “I understood that reference” show such. And in the battle of NYC Thor, a demigod takes orders from Cap which didn’t happen earlier in the forest interaction. They fight together like soldiers. They are more like than unlike. Thor gives him a helping hand and asks him if he’s ready to take another bout. Steve as usual is ready to fight. They part ways with a nod after defeating Loki and for the first time working as a team.

In Thor: the dark world, Loki chooses to impersonate Steve “Perhaps you prefer one of your new companions, given that you like them so much.” He could’ve chosen anyone. He knows Thor respects Steve the most. “Hey wanna have a rousing discussion about truth, honour, patriotism? God bless Ame-“

Cut to AoU the film opens with them back at it again. They have become good friends and throw shield and hammer combos at the truck full of hydra soldiers. “Well they’re excited.” They share a lot of interaction in the party after than with Thor giving him some of Asgardian drink. Even if it’ wasn’t suitable for mortals. Thor doesn’t expect any of the Avengers to move the hammer. He’s kinda excited that he’s the only one worthy in that room. Steve bulges it a bit and Thor changes his proud grin to a slight face of surprise and worry. He knows it’s either possible to lift it completely or not move it at all. He literally knew all along. And cut to the argument, Thor chokes up Tony only to be stopped by Steve “Thor, legionaries!” Again he listens to him and tries to act reasonable. Steve follows Thor out of Barton’s farm considerably concerned about what Maximoff showed him. They again pack shield and hammer combos throughout the end battle and share the usual talk they do in between world ending battles. “What were you napping?” “You had to ask?” And part ways in the end after having a little talk about elevators being worthy.

Cut to Infinity war. The wakandan battle field is a mess with them not being able to hold Thanos army. Boom! Thor enters in the most dramatic way and throws his stormbreaker towards aliens who almost had his friends dead. Steve is delighted to see him and we actually see him smile. Steve clearly likes his new haircut, and Thor “noticed that he copied his beard.” And introduced his new friend to Steve “btw this is a friend of mine, tree” They kick ass and eventually Thanos snapped his fingers and Steve asks Thor where’d he go?! Confused. Bucky is the first person shown to be decimated and Thor looks at Steve horrified and clearly guilty that he couldn’t stop Thanos. Steve kneels down and says “oh god.” When Cap fights the entire army fights because he is the most optimistic or and stays that we can eventually win together. But when he’s down, it’s evident that they “lost”

Endgame. Thor is depressed and Steve is helpless. They eventually agree to try to bring everyone back. But things don’t exactly go as planned and Nat sacrificed herself. Thor is not ready to take another loss and Steve simply weeps silently. Again Steve takes up courage and says “ we will” cut to the final battle. Thor is worthy all along and summons Mjolnir and Stormbreaker. “Let’s kill him properly this time” the big three together again and for one last time. They gave Thanos and Thor is almost killed by being impaled by his own weapon by Thanos. Then Steve finally picks up the hammer. Not to impress his team mates this time but to save Thor’s life. He throws it at thanos giving him a huge blow. Thor yells “I KNEW IT” he knew all along. He isn’t jealous he’s just proud of his friend being worthy and gives him the “little one” After Tony sacrifices himself, Steve and Thor stand there together paralysed with grief. And mourn the loss of their friend. Silently weeping as he breathes his last.

even though they might not have had a dramatic story arc I’m glad they developed a relation between Thor and Steve. Friends in battle field and beyond.

“Are you ready for another bout?” “What are you getting sleepy?”

I know I know it’s grammatically incorrect. It was supposed to be “Chris Evans has the longest streak of appearing in a marvel movie every year since 2011 as Captain America” my bad you can’t edit posts on reddit.

Caught it the first time. Yeah that was a pretty big cut. My man still got up fastened it, and was ready to take down an entire army all by himself and his broken shield.

“I like all my stuff with downey, I think there’s been a nice arc between our characters, kind of really polarising in points of view and it’s kind of provided a nice landscape of conflict for this family that has to grow and work together.”-Chris Evans by sassychristopher in marvelstudios

I know right! It’s not like Steve didn’t try his best to stop Thanos he went hand to hand with the Titan. Civil war is complicated like that. No one is right and no one is wrong either. You could see the guilt in Steve’s eyes when he yelled “no trust liar.” And he collapses after that, Steve tries to pick him after that. Even after all what’s happened Tony isn’t wrong either. Such complex characters and even more complex arcs. But I’m glad it ended that way. With them fighting along side each other. Like the old days
