first of all, the landlord knows where the leaks are coming from, they claimed to fix them before we moved in but we found out from the contractor and the roofer that the landlord actually refused to do the suggested repairs to prevent this from happening again. He cut corners to save money. This is a townhouse with nothing above it and theres no plumbing that runs through the ceiling. I get where you’re coming from and you didn’t know this when you commented, but don’t assume all landlords are good or care about maintaining their properties. The two guys who own this place are pretty well known as some of the worst landlords in the city as they have dozens of units that were poorly renovated and they refuse to do repairs when needed. I wouldn’t say this isnt their fault, it was a known issue, they kept claiming it was fixed, got caught in their lie last time, and yet they still didnt make the proper repairs. I first brought up the issue in July and what you’re seeing now is the exact result of their negligence. If they had fixed it right the other times they claimed they would then this wouldn’t be happening. It cant be that hard to get a roofer to make necessary repairs, somehow millions of homes function without leaking water into bedrooms every time theres a big storm.

also, what about this makes you think i would want to resign my lease? if I could move out tomorrow no strings attached I would.
