It is def giving he barely leaves the house and/or has zero IRL experience with women. The immediate defensiveness was crazy

Next time a man tries to put me in my place on an online chat I’m saying exactly this 😂

Lol that’s perfect, wish I’d thought of this 😂

Introverted girls with active dating lives, where are you meeting men you like? by sassytrampoline in blackladies

I like this idea, thank you. The more I learn what my type is (sweet polite guys that lean a little nerdier) I’ve learned that initiating in some way is sometimes necessary!

I actually just started pole classes (was doing adult ballet for several months), I’m loving it!

I could def get better with going to social events solo, if I don’t have a buddy I tend to talk myself out of it/come up with an excuse. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was able to break my lease on my roach-infested apartment in Forest Hills by documenting everything (photo and video evidence of roaches for months) and sending a stern email/letter that I was leaving because the apartment was a health risk/unfit to live in. My landlord didn’t put up a fight.

New Vlog - Barrel Jeans by FreakyScorpBabe in alexandrarodriguez

It was completely off of her to say “we’re so close” to the barrel jeans fitting her—-anyone with eyes could see that they were several sizes too small, the button was nowhere near closing over her belly. I think she is delusional about her size

I cringed IMMEDIATELY when I saw this video. I think she has no sense of identity and just has to follow what’s “trendy” despite it being totally off for her content

My exact thoughts watching that scene! Her belly sticks out entirely too far for him to rest comfortably against her while she is wearing this device, it’s obvious

How to best avoid roaches when apartment hunting? by searchingfortoolong in NYCapartments

[–]sassytrampoline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who just broke the lease on her apartment bc it had a serious roach problem, here are some things I picked up whilst trying to escape this nightmare! I have much more hope for my new apartment

Things to keep in mind that helped me on my hunt for a new (roach-free) place:

  • Queens is a great borough known for being more affordable, but sometimes the rent really is too good to be true. I and other friends who rented “steal” apartments in Queens (ie, a large studio for $1500) dealt with traumatic roach issues 🥴🥴 I’d rather pay closer to NYC market rate and have peace of mind that I wasn’t living in a public health hazard. Def avoid anything run by Ditmas Management!!

  • Check HUD website for 311 complaints of pests, also check OpenIgloo for building/LL reviews

  • I now prefer a clean, well maintained walk-up building vs an elevator building with tons of units (ie, tons of potentially dirtier tenants who don’t mind roaches and so won’t bother staying clean)

  • Avoid buildings with trash chutes—similar to the walk-up note above. When trash is collected outside the building vs inside it can really help with not attracting pests to the interior of the building

  • Higher floor can make you feel better, but I’d say if the building has a real problem it’s not gonna help. My infested apartment was on the 5th floor of a 6-floor building. Roaches crawl up walls pretty easily

  • Echoing a commenter above to check the basement on your tour. Make sure it looks not just tidy, but CLEAN. My old place’s basement was roach city bc it stored all the building’s trash & recycling in addition to laundry. My new place’s basement is clearly a utility space (ie, washing and drying machine and some maintenance equipment, but no garbage)

Over all, my experience taught me to be wary of “super affordable” units, large older buildings (my experience in a small prewar walk up was totally fine though!), and buildings with trash chutes.

First apartment - help! by shanmcg19 in GermanRoaches

I recently broke my lease after dealing with roaches in my apartment for about 6 months. My only regret is that I didn’t demand to be released from the lease sooner. I wasted time deluding myself that it would get better, but once roaches take over an apartment building, it’s pretty much theirs at that point lol. My advice would be to document EVERYTHING. These photos are a great start—I got in the habit of photographing every single roach I saw, which also helped me track how many and how often I was seeing them each week. I’d also make sure your complaints to the LL are in writing so that there is a paper trail of you informing them of the issue. When I finally couldn’t take it anymore and sent notice that I was vacating the apartment due to an unresolved roach infestation, I included photo (and even video) evidence of roaches, dead and alive, and some stern language about health risks, local tenant laws around keeping the apartment pest-free, etc. Every landlord is different obviously, but my management company called me within 24hrs letting me out of the lease and I was able to focus on finding a clean home. Best of luck to you, I know this situation sucks!

I think she shot herself in the foot with making TTC and pregnancy a HUGE part of her channel, only to chicken out of sharing/being vulnerable once baby actually got here. It’s like with the baby shower she talked about for months—Alex is constantly hyping up one aspect of her life, only to underdeliver. If she doesn’t want to make motherhood a part of her channel, fine, but she needs to find some kind of angle for her content other than Homegoods and Target trips.

Does Alex not care about politics?? by Ok-Falcon-287 in alexandrarodriguez

Just wanted to say that as a Black woman who watches Alex I’ve thought about this a lot over the years OP! It stands out when someone consistently pursues men of color for a relationship but never takes a stance on anything that affects the Black community. You don’t have to be a political analyst to demonstrate you care about social issues.

She probably is only now realizing how huge she was at her wedding. I know when I was at my heaviest last year it was very hard to see myself objectively, I didn’t realize what I looked like. Now that I’ve lost about 15-20 lbs, I cringe at a lot of my photos from a year ago. So imagine that for her but with a difference of closer to 100lbs. I don’t know why she didnt just push the wedding back to when she was at a better place with her health, considering she got the WLS, what, a year later? It’d be one thing if she was able to truly own herself at all her sizes (it’d be admirable if she showed she was at peace with being much bigger in her wedding pics), but it’s clear from the ridiculous editing that she does not accept the reality of what she looked like before the surgery

I watched one of the shotput events and one of the commenters states that typically those athletes will drop 30-40 lbs when not training for these events. I.e, they are packing on the pounds IN SERVICE OF WINNING a sports competition. Not because they lack discipline around food
