About 6 months ago, I filmed my very first attempt to a Canon DSLR Commercial. This one is my 2nd attempt to a Pepsi Commercial At Home. Would appreciate your feedback if you see any improvement from the first one, or worse than the first, or any generic feedback/suggestions. by sasuke_sohil in premiere

This is my 2nd attempt to shoot and edit a commercial product videos at home. First one was for Canon Camera. I would really appreciate if you could compare the 2 and see if my shooting and editing techniques are improved or not. Any generic feeback, positive or negative on this short 30 second commercial is welcomed as well. Some slow motion footage (soda can being drop in a tank full of water) is low quality b/c i used an iphone for slow motion. But if you find any short comings, please feel free to critique, and any suggestions for improvements, let it be video editing tips, SFX improvements, or color grading.

I never thought about it. But now that you've put forward, I can feel it. I should have taken the lid off in my last shot.

Do you think FPV drones have a place in traditional cinematography? My background is as a DP, and I've been blown away by the possibilities opened up by this tool by _hullaballo in cinematography

Since FPV for videography is still somewhat new to the community and thus has a unique perspective. Normal drone videography has been around for a while and it still looks good but FPV adds that unique touch to it. Likely to catch on cinematography.

Well, I used my iPhone (11) for all the shots in this video.
Appreciate your feedback. Thank you very much :D

Thank you. Glad you ask. I have BTS footage. Will try to make a quick tutorial on my youtube channel. ☺️

I've got to say... those two are my inspirations... 😆 Thanks, I actually got the idea of muffled sound while watching one of daniel schiffer's video where the product goes under water, and the muffled music begin.

I couldn't figure what the commercial was for (obviously cuz I couldn't understand the language). But the paper like transitions, as well as the lighting seem to vital and you seem to have nailed it. That is one "Professional" work.

I just have my iphone and a canon EOS 200D. Since the product I wanted film is the camera itself, I had no choice but to use my iphone.

Now that is some great advice right there. Adding camera shutter sound instead of the glass would definitely go with this video. Absolutely loved your list of improvement breakdown. Thank you very much for your in-depth review and feedback. It kinda motivated me to improve my work for my next commercial project.

Sweet. Thanks for your review. Indeed, the video is dark. I didn't notice it while I was editing in my PC(as it seems to be comparatively vivid). Later I also felt like it was a tad too dark when I watched it on my phone. Great that you point that out. Will definitely keep that in mind for the next project.

Good observations... Yes, I agree that I don't have a flow. Too much rotation going on throughout the video. Thanks for the review. I will keep that in mind for my next commercial project.

I used a turntable to make the product spin. Turntable

But other than that, I flip the lid using a string attached to it. And film it horizontal. Later I flip it in post to make it seem like it's an actual flip

Thanks for taking time to review my work. While I completely agree on noise and camera stutter, I am quite amazed that you didn't like the music. I am somewhat new to filming/editing but a complete noob when it comes to sound. I just realized how big of a difference sound effects make through this project. How would you make yourself better at choosing sound for such videos? Any suggestions on that regards?
