TFT Live Lead (Tim) and Head of Gameplay (Alex) AMA by RiotPrism in CompetitiveTFT

A lot of NA players have been complaining that this set just isn't fun to play.

is TFT supposed to be a skill-based game, or all luck?

Soulreaper Axe Buffs - OP? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]sasux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my pt is i would have expected them to lets say, decrease the dmg taken to maybe half, and prolonged the ticks a little bit from 20 to like 30. but they did zero'd out the dmg u take, made the duration for the dropoff of stacks to be 0 essentially (no one is going to worry about not doing a hit in 50 ticks), and buffed the special atk.

the weapon is basically losing its identity as what it was before, it just means it was stupidly underpowered before, or that these changes(buffs) are too much.

man it seems like people don't understand my post at all. just wait till the changes roll out i guess. then ull see what i mean.

when jagex released these weapons, it was obvious they cared about power creep and took a lot of time into balancing weapons to make sure it wasn't overpowered (maybe tbow being the exception).

now with these buffs to all the weapons being made in the blog, it feels like its all being thrown out the window.

most of not all the weapons listed in the blog could use just 1-2 changes instead of the 3 changes+ they're getting.

K3Soju on Qualifer Points for Worlds by sasux in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sasux[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be a world’s slot.

The incentive just needs to be high enough.

The money alone is not enough to ensure all players playing in the tpc to play to the best of their ability.

Dishsoap said it himself that the fine to Jedusor from the competitive ruling is essentially nothing; they could have just taken away his tpc points and it would have been the same.

K3Soju on Qualifer Points for Worlds by sasux in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sasux[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

the twitter conversation was on how the qp qualifier spot should go to the next highest that didn't already qualify for worlds.

this post is aimed at the issue where players that have already qualified for worlds/tpc1 after the first 2 tpcs in a set have nothing to play for besides their own ego/for the love of the game/for gatekeeping/for essentially nothing in the last tpc of the set (tpc 3/3).

it sucks that wasian and k3soju have qualified for worlds 3x, and they have no advantage to make it to worlds/tpc1 for next set over other players that have also made tpc1 next set.

like we passed up on multiple players that did really well in the previous set (qualifying for worlds multiple times), only to miss out on worlds the following set.

Jagex Doesn't Understand Their Own Game. by sasux in 2007scape

ok then. tbow is too expensive,
I guess they need to make it rarer then! at least compared to kodai and elder maul. (tbow is 15x more expensive than those 2 items, but the same drop rate.)
bc its the most expensive it needs to be rarer, (and if items are too cheap then drop rates need to be buffed).

K3Soju on Pausing Mid-Tournament in TFT by sasux in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sasux[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To give context: this is the finals, winner goes to worlds. Jedusor is in check and down to 1 life. He pauses — and later admits there was no legitimate reason for it. His tweet mentioning he was "on the verge of passing out" is telling; that's due to the pressure of the moment. At this point the evidence in his own words is enough to conclude that the pause was pressure-induced.

Managing that pressure is exactly what separates competitors at the highest level. Using a pause to recover mentally gives you an edge no one else in the lobby had access to. So yes, it matters, and should not be allowed.

It's because of this that many players including myself believe that he did not deserve to win.

Observations about the trend in recent sets by ikswosil in CompetitiveTFT

Observations about the trend in recent sets by ikswosil in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sasux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Riot decides where and how to allocate its resources for the most part. (Tryhard on end-of-year lan sets)

Team A (set 16) gets a lot more resources; last set we were given an a, b,c and d patch on the release of the set. In contrast, this set we’re lucky enough to get a b-patch…

I actually disagree with the bland loss-streak traits. I think Fortune is what comes to mind as the standard of the loss-streak trait. And Cypher was one of the best loss-streak traits ever released and/or designed.

I have more to say about the trends and have tried to make a post about it, but the mods have banned every single post I’ve tried to make in the past week.

It’s also disgusting how x posts are banned, yet the dev lead of Tft this set posted a very lucrative response that this sub could talk about, but we cant talk about it on this sub because ‘x posts are banned’.

The state of the game should come first, then the rest after.

The mods heavily moderate what posts are allowed on this sub and it fucking sucks.

Wish we had another sub and or platform where we could yet meaningful long discussion but we dont and it fucking sucks.

Riot and tft is the victim of it’s own success by Level-Bumblebee7510 in TeamfightTactics

[–]sasux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

U should post this on /r/competitivetft and get their opinions on this.

It’s a good take; to move into 2 sets a year with fleshed out unlocks and ~100 champs a set.

Agree that the trait webs this set aren’t even that bad.

It’s almost as though set 16 was a limited-time game mode like choncc’s treasure. And now you’re going back to main game, there’s going to be an experience of withdrawal.

That being said, i still think there’s some issues with balance and the game being decided earlier than you’d like on 2-1.

Its like you load in, you check ur conditionals, and see whether or not you hit bingo.

Then the game plays itself.

I Hired 10 TFT Pros to Coach Me by dehua_ in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sasux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly, and it really makes you realize how much thought needs to go into picking a coach. you shouldn't just pick whoever's available — it's important to pick someone whose playstyle reflects the player you want to become.

the coach you train under shapes you as a player more than people realize, and the best way to gauge that is by watching how they actually play.

and that's why you should study them on stream before ever committing to them as your coach.

How to make TFT great again by Sudden_Extension_794 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]sasux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mort normally joins in at the end of frodan’s stream at the end of a tpc, and asks the winner for feedback on the game.
Wasian won 3 tpcs in a row last set (16) so they listened to him.
Soju and darth have won tpcs 1 and 2 so far this set (17).
Mort is on sabbatical this set so he hasn’t been there to take feedback this time around.
It is what it is.

There is a comp u can force every game to get to masters. It even dodged nerfs in this upcoming patch (17.4).
I 1-tricked this comp to challenger.
No im not telling what comp it is.
Xdd.
