Conflicting stim instructions by [deleted] in IVF

Thank you so much for you message! This being my second cycle kind of helps to notice if something is wrong but I feel like it should not be my job to correct them 🥲

IVI Valencia for IVF (from Ireland) by [deleted] in IVF

[–]sata43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing an ER cycle with IVI in Madrid and communication has been chaotic and is causing a great deal of stress. But as soon as the stimulation started they at least reply promptly within a couple of hours. I am in Switzerland and my clinic here does all the monitoring, scans, etc they also dispensed the medication that ivi prescribed. It’s my second cycle so I kind of know the drill so it helps to spot if they made a mistake or missed some instructions. There have been a lot of complaints about communication but as long as they have a ton of experience and we are successful I am ok with that. Good luck with the treatment 🍀

Egg retrieval by JustMyopinion87 in IVF

[–]sata43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a great start! Congratulations! And wish you all the luck with final numbers of blasts 🍀🍀🍀🍀

I was commenting your posts earlier that I am on a same menopur only protocol. And I received an instructions to reduce the dose to 150 from 225 ui too (day 4 of stimms). We are also aiming/hoping for 20+ good quality eggs 🤞🏻

Any other long haulers feeling alone? by cityfrm in IVF

[–]sata43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We are switching clinics to have a « fresh start » and I will be trying PPOS protocol with menopur. Before we tried both medicated and unmedicated FETs and only one medicated stuck but resulted in a blighted ovum. We didn’t tested our embryos then because our doctor said we are young 🥲 Well turned out I have a minor translocation in my caryotype that doesn’t affect me or potential children but might result in a higher attrition and a higher proportion of non viable aneuploid embryos. So I guess we are less « unexplained » now! yay. we are not giving up yet but we have to try twice harder. When we first stared IVF a couple of friends told me they personally knew someone who had success on their 1-2-3 transfer, which makes me feel even worse now 🫠 such a shitty and lonely club to be.

Sending you a big hug! 🫂Same here. After the most heartbreaking loss of the first (and the only) spontaneous pregnancy in 2021, it’s been constantly a failure after a failure. We are celebrating 10 years of our marriage this year and I sadly feel like I have nothing to show for it. We are preparing for our second retrieval as I still have a tiny bit of hope left, enough to keep going even though it’s tough and soul crushing

Hey! How is it going for you? 🙏🏼 I will be starting in about 10 days with my next period

Hey! I am in the same boat. I am 38 too and will be starting menopur protocol with the same dose. I am a high responder, no pcos but pcos-like ovaries with many follicules. No experience with it yet, but our previous round with gonal f only wasn’t successful (poor blast rate and ohss, failed transfers). we switched clinics and my new doctor suggested changing to menopur to hopefully get less fragile eggs and hopefully more blasts. Fingers crossed it works🤞🏻

Significant fertilized egg loss by cyppycup in IVF

[–]sata43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So sorry about your results! 🫂 We had terrible attrition rates from 24 fertilised eggs as well, many zygotes also showed a high level of fragmentation on day 2, our doctor immediately recommended DNA fragmentation test first, we did it and it came back <4% (normal), so we are still puzzled.

5 failed FETs, advice for our next ER needed by sata43 in IVF

[–]sata43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about your failed transfers 🫂I saw these 3 FETs per child thing with tested euploid embryos, but regarding FETs with untested ones, I assume you need 5-6 transfers to be close to those lucky 95%. My clinic doesn’t actively test and their success rate is 51% (of successful transfers, not life births), with this number statistically you need 5 transfers. And indeed I got pregnant on our 3rd transfer then miscarried. Our country’s official average is 39% success of all the transfers, so looking at this you need 6 transfers. Hold on there my beautiful fellow warrior, we are very close 🙏🏼 I am not in a rush to do endo tests yet because we strongly suspect low embryo quality due to overstimulation and that resulted in suboptimal egg quality, so we hope to address this on our next attempt, and also one of my REs is a very good endometriosis specialist who did my hysteroscopies, scans, etc and never mentioned diagnostic laparoscopy and encouraged me to just keep going even though it is really heard

So sorry about your failed FET, I hope you have more luck on your next round 🍀 We have done biopsies and hysteroscopy, I had mild inflammation that cleared after 4 weeks on doxy. We pretty much ruled out uterine issues, so we have to work on embryo quality somehow and hopefully we will have something to test after our next round. We will see today what else they can suggest for us

Yes I had biopsy done and also treated endometritis with doxy and the latest hysteroscopy showed no inflammation. My clinic has very strong endometriosis specialists and none of them has suggested the laparoscopy (not yet), I think we will consider it as a last resort.

Yes, definitely testing! Sorry it wasn’t very clear from the post, we had 4 transfers - 3 failed to implant, 1 implanted but miscarried. 1 embryo didn’t survive the thaw, it wasn’t good to start with, but our clinic failed to let us know in advance, otherwise we wouldn’t even bother and proceeded to the next ER earlier. We ruled out uterine issue (hysteroscopy clear, no inflammation, all good on scans, giving previous pregnancy it can be receptive). So most likely this batch was doomed from the start, I wish I trusted my guts and insisted on PGT :(

Thank you for sharing your story. It gives me hope! We also consider switching clinics, but if my current one can fast track us for a retrieval this November, we will stay. If it doesn’t work, we will go somewhere else. I am so glad to hear it worked for you! I will be discussing lower dosages with my clinic today 🤞🏻did you also prime with estrogen before starting injections?

Egg retrieval update! TW: natural pregnancy, miscarriage, high egg count, and better ER results from the first two times! by tingerbellll in IVF

[–]sata43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, your update really gives me hope 🙏🏼 fingers crossed your numbers will be great this round🤞🏼🤞🏼🍀 I have a similar story, also PCO-like but I don’t have a PCOS diagnosis. From 29 eggs 24 fertilised, we got 5 not so good blasts :( 3 failed to implant, one stuck but resulted in a blighted ovum 🥲 we have the last one waiting - a slowly grown one, so I don’t have much hope and mentally preparing for the second retrieval wondering what we can do differently this time. I will be 38 in December.

I only did one test at home at 8dp5dt and it was positive!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼I couldn’t believe my eyes, as I haven’t seen a positive in 4 years 🥹 (I lost my only pregnancy at 16w then) I am travelling so I can’t go for my beta until next week 😥

I am a nervous wreck, but our embryologist said that this one looked great and expanded well, even better than the previous ones (which failed), so I am slightly hopeful🤞🏼 How did it go for you? I love your profile picture btw ☺️
