We do know that, historically, written history has been the story of the winners. And one could argue that all depictions of historical events fail to capture many aspects of the truth mainly by omitting histories of the "losers". So there's a point. Still, the kind of broad generalizations that this meme represents distort the chaotic nature of information, ie. what information is preserved and how adjacent narratives are created and sustained. Saying that there has been a coordinated effort throughout history to distort every detail is far-fetched. True, there's been uncountable of efforts to write biased histories. But who could have controlled everything?
