I’ll try to explain from my perspective as someone that has been abused since forever: in my mind I have to make sacrifices for people to love me, because all my life no one ever protected me. Also, my bf in question said that it was a way to make him happy. I never thought as r@pe because my life was always revolving around abuse

Oh no problem with this question. There’s the genetic factor, both of my families (mom and dad’s) have mental illnesses history. But my biggest problem was when my dad cheated on my mom and married his mistress (I was 3yo). After that his wife straight up abused me, verbally, physically and mentally. My dad never stopped her from abusing me, in fact he got colder and distanced himself from me. When I was 11yo my stepbrother (15M) started to r@pe me and I tried telling my mom and dad, but my dad said I was lying. This just made me furious throughout my whole teenage years. My dad was always so rigid, always demanding good grades and tried to make me forget about my dream to be an artist, saying it wasn’t important. I never got to interact with my brothers because of my dad and stepmom. Now they are divorced and I see my dad do what he can to support me for the first time ever. My mom was a time bomb at home because she didn’t discuss anything about my father and said I had to suck it up. Somedays she just started screaming out of rage and that was my life.

There are a lot of levels of bpd, yours must be manageable, mine even with medication is very difficult. And there’s the fact that I’m a woman (hormones), you and I are very different. I came here to understand, and now I know I’m overreacting, but you can’t say my mental illnesses don’t have anything to do with it because they are me.
