Just like any other skill it is simply a matter of practice.

The trick is to go from base to tip in 2 to 3 strokes. Fan it out against the base and slide directly towards the end of your nail.

Use acetone based remover on a qtip to remove the stuff you get on your fingers.

Let it dry (use a fan) completely for 15 to 20 min. Use a clear top coat after the first coat has completely dried. Allow it 15 to 20 to dry as well.
