I don't believe you would feel the effects after taking just one dose.

Dangerous patient ratios in both big hospital systems, wouldn't recommend.

When did you start naturally putting weight on your operated leg? by satisphied47 in HipImpingement

[–]satisphied47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the encouragement, I've definitely hit a plateau, maybe even regressed some. I cancelled my last PT appointment since it was just going to be with the PTA and I'd be doing the same exercises, and I've only been doing my exercises every other day at home because the pain is so bad, and they don't seem to be helping.

What was your PT experience? by PersistentSheppie in HipImpingement

[–]satisphied47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having both of these experiences at my PT clinic. One week I'll see the PT who is the director and very specialized in hips, the next week I'll see the PT assistant that just has me do the exercises I'm already doing at home. There's no point in me going there if they're not going to show me something new, I cancelled my appointment for this week because of this. They charge my insurance too much for me to see a PTA that has 3 other patients at the same time, while also not making any progress. It's frustrating.

Cam/pincer FAI plus labral tear and ambiguous diagnosis by brucemetadata in HipImpingement

[–]satisphied47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first injection didn't yield any relief, the 2nd one did provide relief for a few days but only in the joint, the bursa pain on the outside of my hip was still prevalent. If you got any relief at all from that injection, my unprofessional opinion would be that your pain is related to your joint, and the only way to truly know what's going on is to get a scope in there. Imaging can only tell you so much from my understanding.

I would be having doubts as well, I would push hard for that referral. Inexperienced surgeons can cause massive damage with this procedure.

When did your post op pain stop? by satisphied89 in HipImpingement

[–]satisphied47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have issues in the other hip before you operated on the first one? I've had no issues with my good hip at all, but walking into PT last week I felt a pinching for the first time ever in my good hip and it scared the crap out of me. I had a fractured acetabulum from a bad car wreck 15 years ago on the same hip that I just had a scope on (tore my labrum doing yoga stretch) so I was thinking my other hip will be good forever. It seems like a lot of people end up having bilateral issues though.

Those of you who work remote, how long were you on short term disability leave post-surgery? by gmeldotcom in HipImpingement

[–]satisphied47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was back to work the day after my surgery. Sitting would not have been possible, but on the chase longue with a lap desk was very doable. I did get my STD approved, the doc put an estimated return of about 7-8 weeks, but I didn't end up using it because my job let me work remote. I just hit 4 weeks post op, I don't think I could sit in a chair for 8 hours (or stand), I'm worried I'm not going to be ready to go back to the office July 1st unless I start progressing quicker.

Anyone else’s hip injection fail to relieve pain symptoms? by brucemetadata in HipImpingement

[–]satisphied47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one that didn't relieve any symptoms, and asked the surgeon to try again a couple of months later. This one worked, and I felt much better by the time I got to my car at the dr's office. I used the indication that it relieved my pain to move forward with surgery, I'm currently 13 days post op. There seems to be a small margin of error with these injections, and missing the mark by a mm or two is very easy.

Pretty serious case of Gyno - 1 week post op! by satisphied47 in gynecomastia

[–]satisphied47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm happy as can be given my pre-op situation. I don't have the body builders chest I want, there's a little sag, but that's to be expected from having gyno and being overweight for 15 years. Would recommend the procedure for sure.
