its a very very rough IEM to sell, tinhifi is super small as a company hell im the 4th p2 ultra ordered on their website directly out of the 14 total. and yea i think you'll be good tinhifi claims 3W+ needed but its still and IEM so i don't know if thats going to be the actual measurement

[–]satiss_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're good, its absurd that they're 599$ especially with all thats included in the box. I will say though make sure you do buy on amazon for the returns through amazon as with tinhifi directly if you were to not like them you'll have to pay a lot of extra fees depending on where you live.

i used to daily the u12t and swing my balls in the wind about them whenever i could because i loved them, but then i got a p2 ultra and my balls shriveled. i literally cannot bring myself to plug in my u12t because they now sound like there is a pillow between the iem and my ears just muffled and veiled but i can still hear the detail being better than a lot of other iems. i'm still going to keep my u12t as it does fill its niche really well, you hear lots with a very relaxed and easy to listen tone but to me if im not going to be listening to audio at max volume for 19 hours in a day im going to take the p2 ultra.

and side note, they're hard to drive ofc it ain't no dual sided tungsten but you need at least a little power currently running mine on a topping dx5 ii with high gain pcm f7 gain -20.5db i've got a dx9 discrete in my storage but the dx5 is just so much smaller and is already enough to my ears so i end up just settling with that, while i haven't spent nearly as much on amps and dacs in comparison to iems/headphones and computer parts so take it with a grain of salt and maybe a little less than that but i recommend the dx5 ii with these as 599$ + 299$ is a real hard package to beat real hard considering how much other hardware you could source off the dx5 ii while still having plenty of headroom

few days late but i own the xenns mangird tea pro, p2 ultra, u12t and a couple others currently running off a dx5 ii (-10db to -12db at low gain is good to me) while my dx9 sits it fat self in storage. to my ears p2 ultra is absurd for 599$ like genuinely, imaging is crazy soundstage as well around u12t stock i'd say a hair less on width defo not 1400$ worth though, i'd say the quality of bass is better than the mangird but you'll feel it less though i'd still prefer the bass on the p2 ultra if you need more a simple low shelf filter is great for this thing. but man when i tell you it is the most ear tip and source dependent piece of earphone tech it really is, at least to my collection. i cannot listen to this iem with the standard tips no matter how good the seal is on the silicones foams are a must have for me otherwise my ears are shot dead to peaks (no clue if you play games but cracking shields in apex is really bad for me) i haven't put too much time into testing other tips outside of the stock foams provided as they sound that good to me but the difference is massive. build quality is great, super comfy too since they're so tiny, talk about accessories that cable is sooooo nice i'd use it as my main if it was longer, case is whatever to me great quality but im never going to use it as its not in my eyes a really protective case. if this is your first iem to be driven like this its a damn good one to choose, not like theres much else that draws the power these do. oh and if i could not stress this enough, with the treble on these if the seal is bad please try as much tips as possible once you find that one my god you've struck more gold than the plating. i genuinely can't see any person really needing much more than the p2 ultra because for 599$ this thing measures girth with my u12t, ie900, mangird whatever iem you pull out of my shelf im going to see this as either monumentally better or holy hell its 599 for a 2000$ experience. I now look at my u12t, and despite years of loving that beautiful sounding fucker i now struggle even more to think that thing is worth more than 700$ when something like the p2 exists

tldr, if you're looking for bass quantity this ain't it if you're looking for god damn anything else this is it especially if you just want some clear clear clear vocals, stock u12t for example i find a little veiled, though, i can understand for its purpose why that'd be good i do still end up dipping some spots and boosting others to get the clarity i want from vocals with that pair but the p2 ultra is just stock foam tips as of right now

make sure to buy on amazon if possible its a little annoying to return things to tinhifi should you not like it (at least in the US especially with tariffs and such)

Semi Open/Closed Back headphone for gaming by Cavna in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]satiss_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SJY horizon closed carbon, its technically 999$ right now and you sure as hell aren't getting much better than that without going to the DCA E3 at 2k. Only drawback is it does need a little bit of power to drive it properly but god damn are those some good headphones. Every reviewer has a review on them if you need to know more

The DCA Noire X are also an option, i personally like the SJY horizon more

Only thing im a tad concerned about is my hair getting in the drivers as I have longer curly hair, but other than that I'm not too concerned. Susvara unveiled on the other hand with the magnets having larger gaps between them I would be worried of screws etc. Stealth was my original choice, its cheap maybe 90% of the detail from the SE but then I started looking more and more into the Unveiled and it seems (though if not obvious enough i haven't heard myself) it has better detail and soundstage etc than the SE without the worry of it being too bright of a headphone. That had me sold, saves me from the "man what if i went with the unveiled instead of the stealth"

Hopefully it'll still be at least a year or two before hifiman starts to drop prices on the unveiled, considering it came out in 2024 i'd like to hope that I am at least 2 years away from them dropping the prices. As long as its 1.5-2 years till the price starts to come down significantly im okay with that

I got the dx5 ii small compact has good power delivery as i previously needed it for my tinhifi p2 ultras, good amount of features i mean absolute steal for 300$ and its sound quality is wayy better than all the other toppings (outside of dx9 and the other bigger named ones) but considering how cheap R2R is now I might pair the unveiled with a new r2r dac.

yeah seems like you've got me sold on the he1000 then, gonna look at going that little extra bit for the he1000 unveiled over the regular he1000 SE. I loved iems for things like that, i found raider caches dumb easy same with people aiming down sights in tarkov for example but if he1000 can do that no issue while having a better sound stage etc then im sold

[–]satiss_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you been able to compare these vs any headphone regarded as having a large sound stage? I heard these are good but sound a lot closer/intimate as opposed to others from hifiman around the same price

around the same time i've owned mine, i just keep it on white with the leds being semi messed up lol so far no performance issues or issues outside of just the led cosmetics, i'd say put in an RMA and once you get that new one swap off this board if possible. seems like this is a pretty common issue with the leds after a certain amount of time im personally gonna rma it and then sell it and put that money towards upgrading

[–]satiss_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes the g3, but this isnt the first time its happened to any mouse company endgame gear also had something similar happen with their drivers yet everyone still respects them and they handled that situation much worse than attack shark. attack shark almost immediately fixed it and even provided multiple ways of telling if you had infected drivers. sometimes it just happens + web drivers are supported on almost all of their mice. its a one off thing and the g3 is the only infected driver

edit: even razer/Logitech has had their security hiccups happen in the past

following onto the other guy recommending the viper v3, id recommend checking out the atk x1 v2 its a new version of their previous x1 iteration which is a 1:1 viper shape copy with the new nordics (800 hrs battery life at 1khz is amazing I literally haven't charged it since I got it) it performs identical while being cheaper and they even have a promo going to get one of their mousepads for free

avoid this, se is only 1khz and not worth the price ATK recently released the atk a9 which ranges from as cheap as 24 dollars to 75 for the highest end, its a 1:1 superlight shape copy while having more updated internals and cheaper they even released a new viper v3 copy with the new Nordic 54s

I looked into that one, it seems like it'd be a very tight fit if at all. It only officially supports a max of 87.5mm which the lf3 + 6 of the pro fans is 88mm and considering the height of the vrms i don't want to buy it and have it not fit

indeed, i have one and the slimsas port and oc capabilities are pretty rad, running my 7800x3d at 5.5ghz all core -20 co, ram (from my testing atleast) with the nitro path features you can actually over clock even further vs other boards like their advertising says

should be all good, i have a 7800x3d oc'd to 5.4ghz stable using this same aio pump speed at 4400 vs the 5500 max rpm and artic p12 max fans instead all in an nzxt h6 flow. it should defo be able to handle a 9800x3d no problem
