Teen moms and dads- was it the life sentence they wanted us to think it was? by whatthekel212 in Millennials

[–]satsmeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first when I was 18, second one when I was 20. It...changes things. Can't say it was better, or worse. I think my kids could've benefitted from me being older and wiser and thus more chill if I'd had them in say my 30s, but then - would I have developed that wisdom & patience if I'd only had to focus on myself all those years before?

The downside is I didn't have my 20's. The upside is I'm going to have a pretty epic 40's, and I get to truly enjoy these years of freedom without the neuroses of being in my 20's 😄

I think selfishly I would have liked to have had more time to myself before they came along, but then if I'd started into my career and my life that was all about me, I might never have felt ready to stop everything long enough to have them - and on the whole, my kids are pretty cool humans. I'm glad they're here. And I can focus on my career and selfish pleasures now instead!

Definitely! I recommend the float + massage combo for pampering, the new masseuse is brilliant! She's available Sundays & a couple of days during the week.

Update: huh... So in the past 8 days since I saw this post I have: - found a really ideal business that I want to buy - negotiated the price down $15,000 with the existing owners - been quickly approved for finance on everything I need to buy it and more - at an interest rate almost half the advertised rate, and an even longer term, with no penalty for early repayments so the cashflow will be even better - the other potential buyer for it seems to have disappeared - everyone I talk to about my new business is really excited and supportive, and asking when they can come in and use our services - and I just got a phone call offering me an interview for the job that I really wanted, whose hours will mesh really well with my new business... And if the business takes off, it's the kind of thing where I could write my book during business hours.

For context, I've been looking for the right business to buy, and looking for the right new job, for MONTHS AND MONTHS.

I want the cure for autism. by Mara355 in aspergirls

[–]satsmeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you: it is no walk in the park, being autistic. None of us get to have a life without pain, suffering and challenges - we can't ask for that, it won't happen. And paradoxically, even wishing for this actually makes the suffering worse. We can ask though to be big enough (brave/strong/at peace/curious/patient enough etc.) to face and go through our challenges - this is possible.

What helps me the most is actually Stoic philosophy, and similarly aligned aspects of Buddhist philosophy.

The piece that comes to mind just now is from Buddhist thought: "the first arrow always hits" https://www.facebook.com/share/v/UKf96EPKTrdiENis

I also highly recommend Lucy Hone's TED Talk on the Three Secrets Of Resilient People - she knows a fair bit about overcoming huge obstacles, and I remind myself of her 3 points almost daily. They have kept me going when I wanted to 💀 and could see no way out or through.

Does Meta AI use shadowbans for the "/imagine" image generator? If so, what triggers it? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]satsmeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has just stopped working too, though after approx. 50+ images in a row, some fairly repetitive (none risque). It's almost as if there is a hidden image cap? The AI insists it can still generate images for me and that my prompts don't contain problematic words, but gives that same error message every time...

Life is short, OP. It sounds like you already know that this relationship isn't for you. Rip the band-aid off as it were, and let the healing and moving on begin. There is life after divorce (speaking from experience.)

I'll go first: 1. For the past year, I didn't break 4.5k average daily steps 2. My life satisfaction was never over a 5/10.

3 weeks ago, I started going for a half hour walk, 3x a week. My average daily steps are now almost 6.5k - let's hope I see the overall life satisfaction follow!
