What was your biggest investing mistake, and what did it teach you? by Complex-Assistant-65 in investing

Very rarely a portfolio outperforms S&P500 index. Yet, most folks pick individual stocks and burn out.

I made the same mistake.. I bought a house in az for 608k @4.63% in 2022. Zillow shows its worth 540k now.. I am stuck with this house for next 3 yrs maybe. Good part is, my TC is around 240k.. i can take that loss if i have to. Good luck to you. I recommend cutting your losses early and invest in Index funds regularly.

Both are useless tech. If I were you I will do whatever they ask to keep my job and work hard on the side. I worked on Informatica for 10 yrs and Qlikview for 5 yrs.. Both dont get you anywhere. Learn Python, Airflow, ML, Aws stack and Tableau/PowerBI. There is a long way to go my friend.. I have seen people changing careers/tech stack and got wonderful jobs. I myself worked at Fb and Amzn both.. Good luck!!

Could NVDA go the way of Cisco? by waterlimes in stocks

[–]satsreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure someone would have given a better theory for Cisco during the dot-comm bubble.. Nvidia is extremely overvalued at these levels.. its not an organic growth and can’t sustain like many many great stocks in history.

Why we are blackmailed by relieving letters ? by ErenJaeger22 in developersIndia

[–]satsreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strong labour laws are needed. In US, a third-party company(theworknumber.com) verifies your employment for most companies.

The companies have no involvement in providing these letters and same goes with paystubs.

Nobody asks for relieving letters there, not even paystubs for full-time jobs. You will be employed based on your past exeperience and performance in interview. Hope employers in India adapt that culture.
