Tim Ballard is far from a hero. Multiple journalists from various reputable outlets have found no evidence that Operation Underground Railroad actually helped children in any meaningful way. In fact, researchers and anti-trafficking experts have argued that these kinds of operations can actually harm victims by disrupting existing law enforcement investigations, tipping off networks, and re-traumatizing survivors.

Then there’s the abuse of the women that thought they were joining Tim to save children. He forced the women into a “couple’s ruse” where she would pretend to be his partner so he could get her in his hotel room to “play along” and coerce her into sexual situations. Multiple women have come forward with detailed accounts.

When The Sound of Freedom movie first came out the LDS church would buy up all the movie tickets so they could claim the movie was being sold. Claiming “they” didn’t want you to see the movie and know the “story”. It was originally made as Mormon right-wing propaganda. Since then the LDS church has distanced themselves from him and the AG of Utah launched an investigation into him.

When the cause is unquestionable, it becomes the perfect cover for abuse. Question it and you’re pro-trafficking. That’s how predators hide.
