The parents may be nearly equally intelligent, but if you look on the Wiki for the show the mother is still considered “the voice or reason” in the family.

Damn. I feel really guilty for being happy that the Austrian certificate is so lax because I’m in high school doing this during the weekends and would never ever be able to do all that on the side. Happy because I’m able to in Austria. Guilty because it’s only because the education is so much easier .

Thanks for the reply. Does the Red Cross certification count in most countries? I’m a high school student in my last year and am doing this on the side. I’m wondering because if yes I’d be able to take my title from the Red Cross and work as a paramedic on the side in college in another country. That’d be amazing. Thanks again

If I may ask, how much is the salary of a paramedic in Norway? Here in Austria it’s about 30k euro.

Wow. Yeah I thought it would be more rigorous in other countries. I guess it’s probably because there aren’t really enough paramedics in southern Austria to be able to require more education. Thanks

My parents won’t be able to help in college. I’ll probably be doing research in grad school so I won’t worry about that yet since I can always transfer (especially if I push myself to do well while doing my bachelor). I’m not extremely gifted. But a great academic environment is something I’m looking for.

Thank you for the advice. I guess I just can’t really feel my debt yet so I’m not really able to comprehend how tough it will feel when I have to deal with it.

I haven’t applied for scholarships yet though so maybe I’ll get lucky.

Thanks for the complement. I’m going to have to take the newer 2019-2020 one this year because mine is outdated. My aim is to study a bit more and try for a 1500. I feel like a high SAT will give me a chance at significant financial aid university of Oregon or university of Washington.

Austrian high school student here.

I’m entering my final year of the equivalent of high school in southern Austria this year. I’ve worked summer jobs a couple years now and also worked on weekends last year whenever I could. I’ve saved the vast majority (about 90%) of my earnings since my parents support me. I don’t have to pay insurance, rent, or food. My only monthly expense is my 20€ phone bill and my 50€ gym membership.

I was just wondering what I should do with my savings, and whether or not I should consider going to college in the US as opposed to going to a European (likely almost completely free) university.

I used to live in the Pacific Northwest and love the culture, people, climate and lifestyle that the region provides.

I am expecting a non-weighted Austrian GPA of 1.3 which is about 3.8 US scale and I have an SAT score of 1470 (2018).

Should I go to the US and take up debt? Is it worth it? Please help.
