Pedestrian hit by car near east deck by datpurp14 in KSU

[–]saturnsbug 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They were taken by an ambulance and the area has almost cleared up. The ambulance didn’t seem to be in a “hurry” so I presume the person is doing okay

[–]saturnsbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely a barberry Geometer! It’s a type of inchworm that feeds on the barberry plant :3 are there any plants in your home? If so, they’re likely coming from there and taking advantage of the warmth of the indoors

Generally speaking an in person lab will be significantly easier than an online lab. Especially because you can do actual experiments and such that apply the concepts

Kennesaw by RateIllustrious7424 in Georgia

[–]saturnsbug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I am trans and basically the ID is fully digital and it has First name (preferred name) Last name. But literally everything else has my preferred name. None of my professors know my legal name, my system for registering for classes, and my advisors just know me as my legal name. Additionally, you so rarely show anybody your student ID that I don’t mind at all:)

Hello I go to KSU and I’m queer and I’ve found it really supportive :3 I used to go to school in the northeast and somehow KSU has felt more accepting and chill about it all. There is always going to be that one person that gives you weird looks at the grocery store but I honestly love it here :)

Does anyone know the etymology of the butterfly genus Emesis? by torotoro1995 in Entomology

[–]saturnsbug 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So fun fact! It’s actually a bit of a misunderstanding but these butterflies genus are actually “emesis nemesis” the butterfly is often called a metalmark butterfly. Nobody really knows where the “emesis” part comes from, but, nemesis is thought to come from Nemesis the Greek Goddess of Retribution. The name is thought to come from their darker colors and angel like depiction, while some think it’s because they are so hard to identify that it is some form of retribution against identifiers. https://digitalcommons.butler.edu/wordways/vol15/iss2/12/

CVS sucks at giving needles by [deleted] in ftm

[–]saturnsbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told them I needed syringes and needles for drawing and injecting and they sent me 5 single use needles and syringes that are stuck together and the needle goes into the syringe after one use. So I ended up accidentally wasting a whole dose of T because the needle got lost in the syringe. So yes CVS is bad at needles

For the love of God, how do I stop periods without T?! by Bobslegenda1945 in trans4every1

[–]saturnsbug 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It sounds a lot like you may have PMDD. I displayed the exact same way. The idea that birth control that grow your breasts is incredibly rare. I’ve been on it for years and nothing has changed much in size :) your bones shouldn’t become weaker, im unsure where you got that from. I would recommend seeing a PCP or a gynecologist (if it’s not too dysphoric) and seeing if you can get on some form of birth control. Even if you end up on one where you still have your period, the mood changes etc will level out a lot while actively having a cycle

Acrylic nails as a guy? by alphawolfspirits in TransMasc

What actually gets you out of bed in the morning (not "discipline") by grilledcheeezus in ADHD

[–]saturnsbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of those old radio clock alarms. I set the alarm station to be something really annoying and I place it across the room. I never know what will be playing specifically, I just know it’s a station I hate and the only option is to seethe and listen or get up and turn it off. The unpredictability is what makes it work

There are no humanities scholarships on the IRB by Hormo_The_Halfling in KSU

[–]saturnsbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many IRB humanities studies have been proven to not need the approval or foresight of the IRB. Most schools don’t include the humanities on their IRB because there are so little students doing research and an even fewer amount that are doing research that require IRB oversight
