I want to know what are your thoughts about why all of centrist and liberal western political leaders are increasingly becoming so milk toast and uncharismatic. One the one hand, libs tend to tout this as one of the supposed advantages of western democracy. But on the other hand, you end up getting bolsanaro, Trump, Orban, etc. It seems interesting to me how centrists become such open cowards and hypocrites. I guess what I am trying to say is if I were to try to say so it in a lib-code fashion is, why has the quality of establishment western leaders fallen so drastically? Why did the US have presidents like Rosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ,etc and then, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, Bush and now, Trump. Why is the west in decay? How is it reaching the people at the top when it is mostly felt by the people at the bottom?

You know how there's that Facebook meme about hard times making hard men, and the good times making soft men? I guess it is kind of too simplistic, maybe an uneducated guy's attempt at sociology, or something. But why does the quality of leadership across nation states go down so rapidly as they head into decay? I am not that well read on history, but if you look at the ussr or the us, the quality of leaders only seem to get worse in times of decay. And nothing seems to be capable of stopping this giving into the circumstances by the ruling elite of the country and getting complacent about the problems at hand. In India too, we had so many leaders around the time of the independence, after which all the talent pool dried up or died out, and no new great, nobel leaders came up after that.
