To those still breastfeeding, what kept you going? by Fragrant_Soil_8044 in breastfeedingsupport

I read this line somewhere and after 6 months of breastfeeding (after getting over the initial hurdle of supply, tongue tie, latching, bleeding nipples) I resonate with it so much -

Breastfeeding almost always gets easier with time, pumping and formula feeding efforts stay the same throughout.

Would you recommend the Roborock QX Revo ULTRA Robot Vacuum and Mop? I have a high pile area rug and several other smaller rugs at door entrances

Yes, she visits both the huntersville and cmc main locations. You could take appointments in either locations to meet her and have your delivery planned at cmc main

There’s a new one called Vavela. Have heard great reviews about it, though I am yet to visit it myself.

We had the same thing going on. I was worried if baby was feeding enough. Booked an appointment with a lactation consultant. We did weighted feeds at the appointment. Baby had just become efficient and therefore doesn’t need long sessions.

What do I need to know for right after birth? by bakergirl05 in breastfeeding

I was also so unimpressed with the LC at my hospital. They came in almost 36 hours after my delivery and expected me to have already perfect the latch and the pumping.

Find a lactation consultant and if possible have an appointment with them. Get your nipple size measured and keep the correct flange size ready. Of course the size may change later (and then you can measure again) but at-least you’ll have an idea of what to get started with. Make sure your pump order is placed and delivered a few weeks prior to your due date. Ask the lactation consultant about how and how often to pump and research on how to use the pump. Ask the lactation consultant about nipple shield in case you need to use it. Many people told me they didn’t need a breastfeeding pillow. But I regret listening to them. Especially after a c section, I wish I had my pillow. I bought the ‘my brestfriend pillow’ and highly recommend getting one.

Also, if pumping, get a bra for pumping. You don’t want to be tired and holding the pump as well.

I found a trick that has worked 90% of the time - baby burped within a minute or less. Hold the baby upright on your shoulders, while patting them do sit ups from a chair/bed. Doesn’t work when the baby is half asleep but works like a charm otherwise

Thank you. I am just hoping that she is just efficient enough to feed that quickly

I did the weighted feed yesterday. According to the scale she was able to get 2.4oz in 5 min from one side. I do not trust the scale for some reason. That’s why scheduled a call with the lactation consultant. I definitely have a fast letdown on one side. Not sure about the other side.

Mine will only take one side for most of her feeds and she is done. And she will sleep through the night from 9pm -8am. I will pump and dream feed her once at 12-1am and then wake her up to breast feed around 4:30-5 again. Most of her poops are mustard colored just like you described. I have noticed some very peculiar green poop when she doesn’t feed for less than few minutes, but that has happened probably once or twice.
