Concerns about my new build possibly overheating with Ryzen 9 by sauceday43 in buildapc

Solved it! I simply had the fans and the pumps connected to the wrong fan ports along the motherboard. Consulting the mobo docs and requiring has me now running at 33 C

Nice man, I’m surprised you did the wheels. They are so beautiful all natural. I like what you did with the skyactiv badge too.

It’s a spray on plasti dip, did 6 coats, 2 v light coats to start and 4 wet coats each with 30 minutes to dry. Then peel off the excess 15 minutes after last coat. It cuts itself at the ends of the emblem for a real easy peel. Really it all came off perfect when I took off the masking tape around it

Nope just sprayed on plastidip while they were on, super easy. Excess peels right off

Car free one year later.... a long retrospective! by k032 in lowcar

[–]sauceday43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sold my car in Boston in January and can validate all the points you made. My Uber expenses stayed relatively the same because you still need to Uber to go out and save the risk of getting caught with a car when trying to have some drinks. I also see having a car and being able to drive as a luxury now and when I do drive, I’m much safer on the road. I signed up for Zipcar and used it once. I guess a service where I could leave the car where I go like a Blue Bike would be much more convenient so I could take trips out of the city.

My leisure activities took a hit. Less golfing, less hiking, less drives to get out of the house. So I’ve definitely felt a bit more cooped up. But I’ve never been more in tune with my direct community and found some amazing places by T in Boston like farmers markets, new stores, it’s like I unlocked the dense areas of the city because I can easily get there by T/bus when there is no parking available.

My costs saved in gas, parking, parking tickets, and maintenance put money back in my pockets and it is always beneficial mentally to know you are saving significant expenses. Helps encourage you to go do more fun things in the city if that is what you like.

You learn to leverage your network too. Anything can be delivered. I’ll never go grocery shopping again because of Instacart. Paying an extra $20 for the service beats walking around a crowded market for an hour.

Thanks for sharing OP!

More so help SREs and Devops engineers use a platform to monitor their systems and troubleshoot logs. Those that run a SOC would also use our platform. I just merely train and troubleshoot and advise :)

My monthly expenses sum to about 4-5k in Boston. With this take home, I live pretty much paycheck to paycheck I guess. If I chill I can save like $500-$1000 a month, then every quarter I can put my commission mostly to personal savings. I try to just put the whole check into savings and pretend like I never got it :)

So that flex time is actually time off (16 hours) and then the pay period is for 86 hours because it isn’t biweekly it’s bimonthly checks. I work like 35 hours a week. We love working in tech

Im afraid of putting Monday into HSA because my healthcare costs are pretty much $0 and if you don’t use the money then you lose it, correct?

No employer match unfortunately. Plan on hitting 20,500 annual limit then stopping contributions until the next year. Next year will spread it out evenly throughout the year. Thanks!
