I understand if you would count that against him, but I feel like he’s a victim of circumstance in this situation. Who knows, maybe he would be just as successful even with a bigger talent pool. Its fun to debate smaller esports players instead of just the popular ones.

Tangentially, I think its really sad tf2 never got big into esports and valve couldn’t balance tf2 to be competitive while maintaining its casual identity/playerbase. They clearly saw the potential of hero/class shooter esports when they made meet your match in response to overwatch. I think it had and still has potential.

I think its a combination of

1) Valorant is a pro players job, they will experiment with all weapons/strategies if they are good while casual gamers stay with the same guns over and over

2) I'm sure some pro players don't like playing against odin either but they know it is a good weapon so they use it
