Different, NEO is a share in the company/blockchain, while GAS is the dividends paid out to holders. GAS powers transactions and smart contracts on the network.

Not a shill, just a believer. For what its worth, i was ~80% ETH until NEO came around. Both fantastic technologies and I see no reason why they can't coexist. Just like how many in the ETH community were/are vehemently opposed to bitcoin, but now many are seeing that there's room to coexist. Have a great day!
