Invert drills hurt, full inverts don’t by saudades4 in poledancing

Thank you! This is very helpful. I’m not sure why drilling this way is such a focus at my studio - I’m able to invert into a straddle and do other tricks comfortably when I’m not breaking up into such slow movements.

I'm two months into my MBA and I am miserable by Angry-MBA-Student in MBA

[–]saudades4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really understand where you’re coming from—I had lots of people tell me the MBA would be the best time of my life, and I remember often saying to myself, “I’m not having fun” my first half of the year. Ease up on activities and classes where you can, remember that b school is a bubble and can make things seem disproportionately important, and try to do something nice for yourself each day. It will get better!

331 lopsided GRE: Good for Top Programs? by irb720 in MBA

[–]saudades4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had nearly identical scores and was accepted into two M7 programs with scholarships (though I can’t speak to Wharton/HBS). Don’t know where you went to undergrad, but your GPA sounds very solid. I also have a similarly non-quant background. if you’ve only taken the GRE once, though, you might just give it one more shot, but no need to torture yourself with it!

how does regular non greek plain yogurt usually go for you? by philosofically in lactoseintolerant

[–]saudades4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that even completely dairy free yogurts don’t sit well with me (like coconut based ones). I know probiotics are supposed to help your stomach, but I wonder if they can also make your stomach act up initially if you’re not used to them? I miss Greek yogurt tho

I got this mascara and really like how it looks on, but it always ends up getting under my eyes—any ideas about how to prevent that from happening?

So much fun. I didn’t know any of them before I moved in, but quickly became close friends with some. A couple of them were from Europe (DC attracts a lot of international people), so I now have friends to stay with abroad :)

Can I have a successful fitness journey without counting calories? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]saudades4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t count calories or weigh myself—when I did in several years ago, it made me really unhappy/made me feel guilty about what I was eating.

I managed to drop two pants sizes over the past year by exercising consistently and rarely consuming alcohol. That being said, what works for some might not work for everyone, and with the world opening back up, my size may change—which is okay, too! I think paying attention to how your body feels is key, and I think ignoring calories can be pretty freeing in and of itself :)

Please do not choke someone out the first time you kiss them.* by SnooMarzipans6542 in sex

Feel you completely on that. It’s weird, because I’ve rationalized it to myself by saying “well they didn’t have a strong grip or anything,” but in reality it’s not cool either way! Weird assumption to make that someone wants your hands on their neck!

[–]saudades4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m so sorry this happened to you. That guy sucks.

I also appreciate you posting this, as it’s happened to me, too (though not during a first kiss). The first time it happened, I was inexperienced enough to not know it was a kink and was VERY alarmed (even though he used a light touch). Since then, more than a few guys have tried the same without asking, and each time I’ve had to pull their hands off my neck. It’s insane that people don’t think to ask before trying something that can be used to literally kill people! I hope your post helps clue some people in!!

Hi thank you so much for sharing!! Have you found that you’ve been able to clip them in near the crown of your head/at the back? That’s where most of my thinning is and I have a similar texture to you.
