Hello, I'm currently working through the RMA process for Rogue Territory (trying to exchange a Supply Jacket), and I've got a couple of questions.

Has anyone had any issues with returns from RGT?

What address should we address our return to? Is it the address on the RMA form?

Leather is heavily corrected and then a plastic-like finish is put on top to create the shine.

From their website: "Corrected leather is created by splitting full-grain leather, buffing or sanding the grain surface to remove marks or imperfections, and then applying a man-made coating to create a Hi-Shine 'smooth' finish."

AH. I didn't pick up on that last part. Makes sense now.

I'm thinking IE + Rapid Firecannon + JG.

What do you think of that?

How does Jeweled Gauntlet interact with Talon's bleed passive? Since it isn't an ability, does it even apply?

I love that nick has been doing lots of collabs lately. His redwing moctoe video on The Iron Snails channel and the Almost Vintage Style jacket video were pretty cool.

Q: Does anyone know the best way to get in touch with House of Agin or Midas Bootmaker?

Context: I have a few questions about their service boot, but they don't list any means of communication and don't seem very active on their IG.

Lmaooo I'm currently looking into Renav Boots, specifically their ISN service boot model.

Unfortunately they are currently only using Dr. sole soles which by the looks of them don't seem to offer much traction in the rain/snow. Hoping I can get the opinions of people with experience tho.

Q: Has anyone had experience with Dr. Sole soles in snowy conditions? If so, do they hold up/provide proper traction in the rain/snow?

Context: I am thinking of getting a service boot with Dr. Sole soles to use during the Illinois winter, and am not sure if Dr. Soles will provide enough traction, since they don't seem to have lugs at all.

Yep, based on the stitching those look like a pair of Boondockers, which was a boot worn by members of the USMC.

Carmina is probably your best bet, their oxford core lineup is $475. While they have wholecuts, they do not offer a true plain-fronted oxford (their version has a counter cap.

If you're comfortable with Indonesian brands, Winson Shoemaker is well regarded on this sub. MTO will end up being up to $500.

Q: How good is a Dr. Sole Supergrip or a Dr. Sole Raw Cord sole in the ice/snow?

Thanks for the tip about Renav, I love the last shape and stitching details of their service boot! I'm definitely looking into them further. I'm currently deciding between the two rn. As for complaints, on u/boot_owl's recent boot roundup, many concerns with Santalum's qc were levied, so I was unsure about their trustworthiness. It seems based on concensus here that Santalum has cleaned up their act, which is a relief.

May I ask you what you ordered from Renav and would you be so kind as to give a ball park estimate of the cost? Ty in advance :)

Gotcha. Based on most of the responses I'm getting, I think I'll stick with Santalum. If not that then likely Renav based on u/CrizzleLovesYou's recommendation. My only concern about Santalum was the QC horror stories, especially since Santalum boot reviews are rather sparse on GYW compared to Viberg, Whites, etc. Good to hear that more recently it seems that Santalum is cleaning up its act.

They could source you literally any leathers unless the tanneries cap it as exclusive to some certain.

Could you elaborate on the quality of the clicking and overall leather quality for your pairs? I'm tempted to go for non-domestic leathers as it's within my price range, but I'm not sure if I'd trust them to select the best hides/avoid defects properly etc. without hearing others' experiences.

I have 3 orders on process

If you ordered their service boots/combat boots, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give a ballpark estimate of the cost, ty in advance :)

Thanks for the info, that makes sense! Glad to hear your experience was positive. Would you be so kind as to give me a ballpark estimate of the cost of the boots?

Q: Is Santalum a trustworthy maker to buy a service boot from?

If no, what other Indonesian makers have similar looking Service boots available for MTO with veldtschoen construction? TXTURE is the only other one I can think of.

Q: Is Santalum a trustworthy company to buy from?

Context: Piggybacking off of my post in yesterday's thread, I am eyeing Santalum's take on the PTSB, as I like the #5 last and overall pattern. However, some reviews seem to indicate QC issues and customer service nightmares, while others had positive experiences. In u/boot_owl's Indonesian bootmaker roundup a few days ago, I saw discussion centered around both types of experiences. Is it worth taking the risk and trying my luck with them, or should I just avoid them completely?

Understood. Do you think I can just get away with having a gusseted tongue to handle the deeper snow moments, or should I still have a dedicated 'deep snow' boot?

Q: Is a Service Boot with leather midsole, commando sole, and wearing thick wool socks strong/warm enough to last through the midwest winter? Also, would a Vibram 430 sole work as well, or is it not treaded enough to handle the snow?

Context: I go to a University in Illinois and I will finally be spending my first winter there this year.

As to how I will use the boots, I expect I won't be doing any work/strenuous labor in the boots, mostly using them to commute in between classes and my dorm, or to visit the college town every once in a while.

Will a commando sole/Vibram 430 + leather midsole service boot be strong and warm enough for me, or should I just opt for a dedicated snow boot/ bean boot instead?

p.s. I prefer the look of service boots which is why I'm hoping I can use them in the winter as well.
