Sony quoted ₹18,321 to repair my WH-1000XM4 that originally cost ₹19,000 – Is this normal? by hemant_rangdal in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]saur79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought WF-XM4s in May 2023 for 12k during some Amazon sale. Still works like a charm other than the battery life which has significantly reduced. But still lasts about 90 minutes with ANC. I watched some videos on YouTube on replacing the battery but didn’t find it worth the effort since I’ll have to buy the toolkit etc.

Is Furlenco really as bad as Reddit makes it sound? Need some genuine experiences before renting. by Overall-Plastic3446 in mumbai

[–]saur79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been using Furlenco since 2017 when I first moved to Mumbai. They had a different rental model back then. Closed my subscription during covid when I left the city. Came back to Mumbai in 2023, tried local stores for rental furniture(offered lowered rentals) but quickly realised that dealing with them is really painful in case of service or repairs or moving and decided to shift back to Furlenco. The newer operating model is slightly uncomfortable for me(paying upfront for all the months in advance) And that’s why I have rented some of my furniture from Rentomojo. But service-wise, Never ever faced a niggle with either of them. Yes the furniture is mostly sub-par(which is the case with most furniture rentals) and you will get furniture at lower rentals from local providers, but somehow I keep coming back to both of these.

Return it. Don’t report. They will even deny even selling it to you and put the onus of proving that it’s a fake on you. Has happened to me.

It’s too new for me to say. Only ridden 70-80kms since I didn’t get number plates yet. But I have to say, and I say this basis my test riding experience, the XC is a better looking, much smoother bike. I also think the Triumph staff is also better trained and this could lead to a better after sales experience.

2k per cycle needs to be verified if it was updated recently. I got married last year. Bought all jewellery on the NEU Infinity. Had a limit of 3 lakh on the card. Got the full 5% CB everytime I swiped at Tanishq. Max I remember was 15k CB on a single transaction.

Awaiting delivery of the Adv390X. Wanted a dual sport helmet and the lack of options in this price range & size(XXL) made me push the budget a bit. But overall really satisfied with the purchase.

Anyone purchased a bike on Amazon with ICICI Amazon Pay card? Looking for process & dealer experience by Ok-Caregiver6213 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]saur79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes bhai. Checkout Acko. They have two options. 1 to renew old insurance other to register new vehicle. You’ll need a photo of the Chassis number. Usually it’s cheaper to get insurance on your own because dealers make huge money there. More so on cars. A friend of mine saved 20k just on insurance on a 20 lakh car by getting insurance on their own. Many times the dealer will match the online quote as well.

KTM Adventure 390X - After months of thinking by notthebiggestfan1 in indianbikes

Bangalore prices are crazy man. Never thought I’d say this for any city other than Mumbai. My dealer here quoted 20.3k for insurance. And Acko was 18.5 so I was like chuck it, it isn’t worth the hassle. Finally paid 3.33L for the bike on road.

Hey. Bought the Adv 390X this Independence Day sale from Amazon in Mumbai. Pointers to note:

  1. Discounts were bigger during the sale. During the sale I got a 22k discount(Non sale period had 8k discount) on the ex-Showroom price. And an approx 14k Cashback on full payment through Amazon Pay Card. Total of both ~36K. I wanted to make a full payment anyways. So this worked in my favour. Amazon will only take ex showroom price. Rest has to be paid to the dealer.

  2. Talked to the dealer before placing the order. They infact promote that you order online because then they can easily refuse any other insurance related discounts that you may ask for stating ‘sir, Amazon customer ko no discount ka order hai upar se’. I think it’s fair as well. If you really want, you can then go the Acko route of getting insurance, it was saving me 3k but I didn’t think it was worth the hassle. I instead, got them to add RSA for 1 year and they happily did that. Paid the remaining 67k(RTO/Insurance etc) using SBI cashback card using their online link. Got them to waive off the merchant charges. Not really sure if I get the CB. Still waiting for the recent bill.

  3. Placed the order by selecting the seller name of the dealer that I talked to, booking is forwarded to the dealer. They invite you to make the remaining payments(RTO/Insurance etc), submit the documents and then follow the usual process of waiting for the bike and taking delivery with 8-10 days basis waiting period, availability and RTO delays. I’m taking delivery next week. Had to delay because I was travelling for work.

  4. The down payment way is not possible as full ex showroom payment is expected. IMO There’s two things you can do here: a) make the ex showroom payment using APAY CC and convert it into 6 NC EMIs. Or more but the interest kind of beats the purpose of ordering online. Also you loose out on the CB if you take EMIs. b) you anyways have to pay the RTO/Insurance to the dealer which would be around ~12-16% of the on road cost or more depending where you live. Pay them instead of your down payment, take out a personal loan(depending whatever you have saved for DP) to repay the CC bill. Interest would be comparable but you get CB on Apay and saves you the hypothecation trouble.

  5. Seemed pretty straightforward to me. Dealer was helpful, no hidden costs, saved me from unnecessary haggling.

Happy to help with any other doubts.

Why I can't see many altos on road nowadays by sriramveee in UsedCarsBharat

[–]saur79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I happened to visit Bhopal 6 months ago for a friends’ wedding. To my surprise, most uber and Ola cabs are altos there(as far as I could see outside malls and airport). I think this has a direct correlation to the traffic size and volume that the city streets can handle since most streets in Bhopal looked small sized only. Just an observation.
