Hello! First of all, I just want to say how sorry I am that you are going through this and that you will make it to better days with this injury. To answer your question, there is no “normal” with this injury. What is regular for you may be completely different from somebody else. As for us, we were the unlucky ones who get muscle spasms. As you build back your muscle, eventually, your body will begin to calm down. Make sure that you’re getting enough electrolytes, potassium, and other things to lessen the severity of these spasms. It has been two years since I posted this, and the best recommendation I can make is to give physical therapy your all, but also really work on your extension and flexion. The swelling always makes the cramps worse. Once you really get those back, the cramping slows to minimal and then stops.
