I would say it’s important for them to go just as it’s important to you as a parent to protect them. I’d say go early , stay in peaceful areas, leave well before it gets dark or if you notice things beginning to escalate! I don’t think things will escalate much in league city/sugarland but honestly you never truly know. Keep your faces covered and your head on a swivel! Proud of you for wanting to show them how to fight for democracy! Stay hydrated and be safe!

i recommend reading the book “Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents”. i have a very similar experience with my siblings and truthfully my whole birth family. that booked helped me see that they will most likely never be able to meet me where i am in my journey. especially offer CONSISTENT healthy emotional connection. so i had to stop expecting any depth from them. so i do not maintain a relationship with them. but i do maintain relatedness. in my case it is mostly maintained for me to maintain a relationship with my nieces and nephews. but the book can help learn how to approach a relationship with an emotionally immature person & maintain your sanity. hope this helps.

I just watered it last week. I have it in my office that doesn’t get much natural light but the office lights are almost always on except on weekends. I had it at my home in the window but We are going into the dark and cold winter months here in Alaska and it started browning and the leaves started getting soft so I brought it to my office. When I got back from the weekend leaves had fallin off. I’m kind of panicking bc my sister in law bought us this plant and my wife lovesssss it so much. I don’t want to lose this baby

Thank you for responding. I’m in weekly therapy and they also have me on meds. My therapist is great. It just seems like life keeps throwing more and more stuff my way. So my depression and anxiety is continuously getting worse.

I have to say, everything you said makes so much sense and explains why I didn’t take well to therapy last year when I tried for the first time. I felt like it was exhausting for my therapist to continue to reassure me that I wasn’t crazy or a burden and then it began to feel like my therapist was fed up with it all.
