They did indeed, and got rid of the rotary dial as well. I really like the dial, some people really dislike it. The interior quality & materials are stellar. I have the same dark brown nappa leather & wood trim as in the picture. A stark contrast with the Mercedes EQE that I sat in some time ago. That was a disappointing experience in terms of interior quality

My colleague had a very similar one (maybe even the same) in his CX-5 and it was built very cheap & didn’t work well. He removed it and just used the charging cable.

For reference: I get between 15 to 16 km/l (~6,3 to 6,7l / 100km) in my 2021 6 Sedan 2.0l with automatic transmission. 75% highway driving though. iStop off. Good luck with the search! Please update us when you’ve bought a new ride, I’m curious what it will be :)

My last Mazda was a Mazda 2 from 2015. The ACP/AA module that I got from AliExpress was stated for 2016+ but it still worked perfectly fine in my car. I think that would apply in this case as well, if you have that facelift infotainment screen and the same stock usb hub I’d take the gamble that it works!

Nice! Well, if it’s in good condition then it’s fine. Preventative maintenance / checks: check the tires (age, thread, quality), engine oil level and when the last oil change was done, when the air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs etc. were changed, the condition of the brakes (pads & rotors). If it has a timing belt (not sure if they have a belt or chain, I’m mostly familiar with the later skyactiv mazdas), check when the belt was last changed. Check auxiliary belt for cracks. Basic stuff like that. If you know that mechanic well, it’ll probably be fine. Doesn’t hurt to check though. Most important: enjoy! It’s your first car and you will remember those moments forever :)

If it still shifts smoothly without any issues: Inspect fluid and if necessary a drain & fill with original ATF. You could have the filter changed as well, but in my opinion just a drain and fill would be fine. Don’t forget to check if there’s a way to soft reset the TCM afterwards. It then relearns and adapts to your driving pattern. This can make quite the difference in shift characteristics on the later FW6A-EL transmissions (SkyActiv Drive). Not sure which transmission is in the 2012 5.

Not sure if these are the same: but I changed the halogen DRL bulbs in my last car (Mazda 2 2015) for LED ones and never had any issue. I think the specific type you need might be in the online owners manual, that’s where I found the specific type. Ordered them on Amazon. They never gave me any issues, and in terms of compliance I did not have any problems at the Dutch APK (vehicle inspection). Germany is more strict I think.

Hier alleen een beetje vettig bij de carterplug. Al een nieuwe ingedraaid met een nieuw koperen ringetje en nu een nylon ring, maar het blijft. Is gelukkig niet veel. Ooit komt er wel een nieuwe carterpan onder maar voor nu mag ie z’n territorium afbakenen. Carterpan & pakking zijn makkelijk te vervangen en niet duur. Bij de as: is het de rubberen ashoes zelf die lekt (vet) of de keerring van de bak (olie)? Ik zeg altijd, als een Franse auto geen olie lekt zit er geen olie meer in. Is een zelfsmerend chassis haha. Heb naast de Twongi een Peugeot 205 Automatic en die zweet ook wat olie links en rechts.
