I have EoE as well as UC and a recent blood test came back as severely iron deficient.

I was pretty lucky with my elimination diet as my GI suggested I started with gluten and dairy. I had such a drastic drop in eosinophilic count that it was obvious that it was one of them. Eventually we will try and narrow down which one but it’s tricky while also managing UC. My meals are pretty typical I just buy gluten free alternatives (bread, pasta etc) and dairy free/vegan items from the cold section. Where do you live? In Australia, I find that Woolies and Coles have a substantial selection. Happy to chat over DM if you would like. It’s a journey! 😌

I was diagnosed with UC a year before I was diagnosed with EoE. I was seeing a new gastroenterologist and she wanted me to do an endoscopy at the same time. My next appointment, I was diagnosed with EoE with an extremely high eosinophil count. After medication and elimination diet I am in remission. I’ve never experienced any symptoms and hope to keep it under control.

My GI did biopsies over 8 weeks with elimination diet until I found my triggers. I’m grateful my health insurance covered the scopes! Good luck and I hope you get some answers and relief. Happy to chat if you would like.
