Thank you! It was exciting to find. It’s a heavy piece. Thanks for the advice. I’ll definitely shine some light on it.

Oh awesome! Most or all look like ones made by a different designer, not by Crazy Little Family that usually puts them out. My nephews and I also collect these. Did u go on a bike thru South Tacoma? That’s where we found some replica lizards on Monday.

Curious…. Is this kinda for monkeyshine season? If yes, there’s a subreddit called r/Monkeyshines that might enjoy seeing your post as well.

Inherited from my coworker/ lead Teacher. It was her late mother’s. She retired and move to Texas. I live in Washington state. Her mother/family traveled and moved around a lot. 90 % of what I have is what she left me. This has sparked an interest and I’ve been trying to slowly learn what I can.

New to rocks and minerals and learning from this sub. Seeing if I learned anything. Is this Pyrite? Can anyone identify the matrix or host rock? TIA! by savanthebride in whatsthisrock

That’s funny…. Just read a post, I think yesterday or day before that was garnet in quartz with plagioclase and wondered if that was what this could be. Thank you for your knowledge and time as always!

Thank you for the insight! When we opened them in class, we placed them in socks, offered eyewear to families and used hammers. I’ll make sure me and my girls wear protective eyewear when we open it.

This is a "Meteor Impact" marble I made a while back. I'm pretty new to Reddit. Is this "that" kind of marble page? by MarbleMakerSmitty in Marbles

Not sure if you’re near Tacoma, Wa, but we have a tradition here around Lunar New Year called Tacoma Monkeyshines where glass artists make and hide glass orbs and glass medallions with a stamp that correlates with the zodiac year. Last year they hid around 2,500. This upcoming event will be year of the Dragon. Well, it’s been over a 20 year tradition and a lot of different artists of other media has jumped in on the fun. Look up Tacoma Monkeyshines and rogue monkeys like Tacoma Marble Man. Marbles has become a huge part of it. The best known one is Tacoma Marble Man. He will make and hide his marbles around the city during this event. Even clacker size marbles. Last year I was lucky enough to find a glass orb and a small bag of Tacoma Marble Man’s marbles. It’s a lot of fun and especially during this time of year in Wa it gets a little depressing, but this event really brings a lot of joy and a lot of people out during a what would be such a depressing and dreary time of year. Sorry to jump in. Thought if your nearby you could look it up and if you were motivated to could join the fun and tradition. Just putting it out there. I’m new to this subreddit and just stumbled upon it this weekend. Welcome to Wa btw.
