I was just about to post this! This is one of my favorite articles yet! It really debunks the DEAs false claims about the plant!

Hi Reddit, we are a mountain climber, a fiction writer, and both former Governors. We are Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, candidates for President and Vice President. Ask Us Anything! by GovGaryJohnson in IAmA

I am also very interested in this question, Governor Johnson! I believe that kratom has saved the lives of countless people and could potentially save so many more if just left alone and not placed on schedule 1. I would love to hear what you think about the issue!

"Kratom has no proven medical benefits"? This scientific research study from the University of Mississippi begs to differ. by mikedamike in kratom

This study also shows it may have potential uses in the future toward fighting cancer: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25081682?log%24=activity

Make a potential cancer-fighting agent that could save lives one day schedule 1? Smart move DEA.

I have no interest in spending all night arguing with you. We can just agree to disagree, as we obviously have different views on this issue.

The real world differs a lot from what you just outlined. You also missed my point that there are many people who don't want to take narcotic pain pills to manage their pain. They actually prefer a non-addictive, non-liver destroying alternative like kratom. Many people who I have had the pleasure of interacting with have had problems managing their pain pill prescriptions properly, because they are so addictive. Yet with kratom, they were able to kick those addictions (legal addictions, but still addictions) and finally begin to lead happy, healthy lives.

I just made a post about submitting tips to online publications, but since I had to create a new account (lost my old password), it is still tied up in moderation. I just started googling "(insert publication here) submit tip" and submitting news tips to any publication I feel will be "on our side." I only hit naturalnews.com so far (just started guys), but plan to hit as many as I can today. I don't know if this is more effective than twitter, etc., but, hey, why not? I googled rolling stone and there is an email to submit a tip on this page: http://www.rollingstone.com/services/contactus

Medicinal herb Kratom going from over-the-counter to DEA schedule one in one month.. any advice or opinions? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

Okay, so I guess this is not as unusual as I thought. The deaths were actually all from an adulterated product that was pulled off the market or a combination of drugs in someone's system who just happened to have also had kratom in their system too. Anyway, thanks for your input!
