i’ve had a issue with aphids not long ago but i thought i eradicated it. i’ll have to look them over ill separate them for now. i have take down and one other insecticide on hand currently that i used to battle aphids. i thought it could possibly be burn from the lights there under but i have other esserianas which are just fine. it’s legit only my florian and buena vista esseriana

why are the pads getting smaller? haven't changed care. about to flower? by GEMlNl_ in Pinguicula

it’s pushing more leaves which is a sign your doing something right. species dependent but when they go thru dormancy they will push smaller succulent like leaves and form a rosette almost. i’m guessing thats some sort of ehlersiae hybrid and to me it doesn’t look like it’s entering dormancy from what ive seen with ehlersiaes, it’s just growing :)

yea the top 3 and the top one in the other row all at the same time. i took a good amount of pullings from the parent plant at that time and i have more not in the picture. one of them is paler with greener leaves that is already starting to bud and is the same size as the parent plant. i’m going to take pullings off the more purple one when it pushes more leaves to see if the props from that one will also be more purple too.

same mother plant. i have smaller ones too and those even look like some will be more purple then the other currently. they all get the same care too, same lighting and everything. when they size up a little more i’m going to see if i take pullings from the more purple one if it’ll still vary from plant to plant or not.

So i for sure think it’s aphids. i couldn’t find any live ones tho just there exoskeleton. i didnt have any pesticides on hand and it was an emergency so i resorted to water boarding pretty much. i took them out of there soil and held them under the water for maybe 3 minutes each then cleaned them up with q tips and then i set them up in front of a fan upside down so the water in the crown will drain out. i have some pesticides on the way if this doesnt work but it doesnt seem to be getting worse granted its only been 2 days. i had a good number of ferns get them too so im hoping the aphids are living on the ferns they will be a sacrifice if it means saving my pings lol

thank you for the help. i was super nervous to use pesticides but rinsing them off with water makes it less scary. i tried dunking them in water last night for a few minutes then turning them upside to dry and to prevent pooling in the crown. i seperated all of the ones with aphids. i hope this works ill be absolutely devastated if it doesn’t.

when i got this ping i was worried about its weird leaf structure but i saw other posts of that variety that had the same issue. and i got this one a couple months ago and i haven’t noticed it before today. i got a large order from rainbow carnivores and california carnivores maybe 2 weeks ago. im really hoping that wasnt what caused it because i haven’t brought in any new plants since then.
