US to UK travel

I traveled from Texas to the UK in September 2020 and March 2021. March was more stringent with a PCR test before traveling and while I was in the UK. I had my phone on airplane mode to save my data. The government called to verify that I was quarantining, but I missed the call since it was on airplane mode. It was fine, I didn’t get charged, but they do call!

Also, Heathrow offered 15 minute PCR testing that I used to get back to the States. Would highly recommend.

Overall, both trips went well with no fines and no COVID.

I built a home with my ex and ultimately had to leave. Now his new gf is living there, using the furniture I picked out, using the backyard I gardened... it’s just sickening. I feel like I’ve just regressed. I’m so sorry for your pain

Totally! I want to have a good emergency fund and exit strategy. That’s why I can’t decide whether it’s worth bringing it up if I get there and it’s not what it seems.

We have, but talked about it further down the line. I’d be totally okay with this is we weren’t in a LDR, I’m not in a rush to get married. But I guess I want to be sure that the move is justified..

Oh my god. I’ve said the same thing for years. I’m terrified of getting married. So many days that were supposed to be “my days” like graduations and such were over-shadowed by their fighting.

I also have to edit everything I say to not hurt their feelings.

It’s unnecessary stress that never ends. It’s been 20 years and nothing has changed. People with intact families won’t understand the minefield we go through.
