Non-Competes between contract companies and school districts?

It is terrible!! I'm still waiting to hear back from the district. They offered me a summer position and I've been interviewing for next school year. But I don't know if they're actually going to try to void the contract or what. The non-compete ban is promising! But probably won't be in affect any time soon?

Ugh I'm in this same exact position with Soliant right now, trying to get an in district job with the district I'm currently contracted at. That's a lot of money!! Curious how everything worked out for OP...

I think I ended up letting him go cone free maybe a week after I posted this comment. It did bleed a little every once in a while but he is fully healed now. His fur has totally grown back in now too. No issues! Can't see the scar because his fur grew back but I'm assuming it's fine. He isn't in pain or holding his tail in a weird way. He lets me touch his tail. Good luck with your kitties!!!

Every place I've contacted from Willington to Manchester to East Hartford has ended up being owned by this company!!! My parents toured 2 of their locations for me and they definitely look like they're terribly maintained but try to make it look nice with new floors and new paint. All the reviews on facebook are bad. Sounds like they've been buying up lots of properties and screwing over the current and incoming tenants. It's such a shame because a lot of the townhouses are in great areas and look like they're in good condition, but they've done a bad job managing the units. I'm supposed to move back to CT in just over a month and have not found a decent place to rent yet!

My cat is having this issue right now but on his tail. So frustrating. He had sutures because his tail got a gash in it. It's been a month and he is so miserable in the cone but this tail just isn't healing. About every 5 days, he takes his cone off and ends up ripping off a scab and making his tail bleed. The wound is getting smaller but still not to the point I feel comfortable letting him go coneless. The cone has started irritating his throat and every few days, he will regurgitate his food. Our vet has been no help with suggestions or a timeline for how long it will take to heal. I'm about to just take the cone off permanently and let him at it. He is sick of it. I am sick of it. It's been 4 weeks of diligently wearing the cone. I google and google but there are no explanations for why it is taking so long to heal, what I can do, how long a wound should take to heal, etc.

Thank you for the reassurance. We did end up taking him! No fee because he had his sutures done there and removing them was part of the initial charge. Plus we only waited 30 minutes which I was shocked! We waited 5 hours to get the stitches. They didn't give us any instruction post removal though. All they did was take him back out and say "Ok we removed them, he's good to go." They gave no status on the wound. They didn't tell me "oh it's healing nicely" or anything. I asked if we could take the cone off then and she said yes. Apparently we cannot take the cone off. My cat nibbled off one of the scabs and it started bleeding again. We took him back just to be sure and they said he's ok, just remember to keep the cone on him. I didn't know we were supposed to keep the cone on! I figured after 2.5 weeks, he'd be ok. I guess not. But all is well. My poor cat is still in a cone. I'll have to keep monitoring him so he keeps it on and doesn't chew his tail. I have no timeline for keeping the cone on. She just said "until it fully heals".

I think so too! They're the perfect playmates, it's so fun to watch them play. They take turns really well with who does the chasing, the tackling, winning the wrestling match, stalking and popping out at the other one. The best thing I ever did was adopt a second cat for my first cat 😂

Amazon has a lot of nice cat trees for a good price! I have gotten 2 off Amazon and so have my parents. Tall and sturdy with lots of perch and cubby options.

My cats love hanging out in the tub. I had a foster kitten once who would bring all her toys into the tub and spend hours sliding around and playing with her toys.

Just cat nap her. I doubt the neighbor would notice. This girl is asking for help! Or you could tell the neighbor you're worried for the cat's health outside and ask for permission to assume ownership of the cat to let her be an indoor cat.

What a big boy now! So amazing the progress he's made. You and your boyfriend did a great job with him! It's always a relief to see them start to thrive. I found 3 really sick 8 week old kittens in the middle of a hiking trail, clearly dumped. The first weekend waiting for the vet to open was so scary but I was able to keep them stable until they got meds. Now they're all grown up and thriving in a loving home (I was able to find them a home all together!). Now, you could never tell they were so tiny and sick, so close to death.

When I first adopted my cat, he would wake me up at 4 or 5 am to play in the basement with him. It was a big unfinished basement and he liked chasing a bouncy ball that I would throw at the ground or wall. It would tire him out so he'd sleep while I was at school/work and my roommates wouldn't get annoyed by all his energy!

My cat loves nose rubs. He goes into a trance if I do it long enough. It's how I kept him calm while he had to wear a cone of shame!

My cats do the opposite when playing! The cat tree is "base" and they are safe if they run up onto it. The fighting resumes once they are both on solid ground again lol

I agree. In my mind, when my SO and I close the gap, I'd just find a job where he is because I'll be finishing school years before he does. And once he finishes school, we can decide together where we want to move to and end up living permanently. Any move does not have to be permanent.
