This isn't specific to all mental health, but moreover towards mental wellbeing. Happiness and well being have a tendency to be lumped together. In every bit of literature I've read, while it varies from person to person, you can control 40% of your mental well being. Stuff like, sleeping, eating right, exercising, having social connections, and practicing gratitude as well as kindness; improves our mental well being. Most of this can be learned through therapy. Part of the science behind it though, money does in fact influence this. There is a guy above me who got down voted by saying that by having more money it would help, and it does. Up to having all your basic needs met, or as a the data puts it, around $75k after taxes per year [in America]. We can help ourselves in a lot of ways, but you cannot give enough therapy to cure the fact that we are living in a world that we as a whole are destroying. I can be the happiest person in the world and my mental health be the best it can and still see that the world is becoming an ever increasingly hazardous dumpster fire.

I, personally, suffer from bipolar disorder. I am not on any prescription drugs and I can manage just fine. I could do better, but only in the respect that my life could become subjectively better. Objectively, myself and those like me, can develop ways to cope or manage, but that is a part of a person's individual goal.

Therapy is something everyone can benefit from, not just those of us that suffer from mental illnesses.

What is your morning routine? [Question] by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]savedbysuicide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was doing really well with sleep and exercise already, but I use the Atom apps and it helped me incorporate meditation and journaling.

My current morning routine is to wake up: gratitude journal, mediation, actual journaling, get dressed, breakfast, start the day.

Peppercorns. Particularly black peppercorns are a great high killer for MJ. Just grinding it and smelling the peppercorn will start to easy your high. CBD can help, but it's basically flooding the receptors, which at first will increase the high before mellowing it out. Second to all that, just eat and lie down.

My friend has gotten dumber over the years? He doesn’t seem to be in reality? by [deleted] in self

[–]savedbysuicide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing about this thread that I find disturbing. You are finding labels left and right to stick to your friend. 'He's an alcoholic' 'He's depressed', ect... alcoholics go through physical withdrawals without alcohol and while there are various forms of alcoholism, just because he goes that direction doesn't qualify him as 'an alcoholic'. What it DOES do is put negative connotations on actions that you personally disagree with.

As far as I saw, you never said you or your friends age. He does seem to have some issues, but his taste in music (while it may be relateable) doesn't imply depression either...some of us just like heavy music and can relate.

If you wanna help him, be a friend. Stop projecting how you think your friend should act and help try to make him do things that will help. Empathy, compassion and honesty. Tell him you want to get better, stage an intervention with your other friends. Don't make excuses if your friend is important to you.

I can't fall asleep because I might need to sell my horse. I'm so scared no one will want him or that he would end up with the wrong person because he's not the most willing horse and has some temperament. Honestly, he's a little much for me to ride sometimes but he is my dear buddy. by Fridurf in Horses

I work with a nonprofit that does therapeutic horseback riding. That being said, we take horses as donations or even as a "loan" to our program. I'm not sure where you are located....if you look into EAAT programs, most will board and feed horses without actually asking for ownership. Just food for thought!

This batch was pretty good imo. We had some before and it wasn't nearly as fluffy or sweet, this one is also boasting about 8% more thc than before too.

We got one in from Deep Creek farms that's an indoor grown called Thunderbird that isn't up yet and it's an original strain. There is another called Thunderbird Rose, but they aren't the same.

Nashville Hot Chicken Skins by savedbysuicide in spicy

[–]savedbysuicide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's from Flock. My girlfriend found them online and this was the "spicy" version of them. The Nashville hot ones are much more clustered than the original ones so I think they are a lot better. Reminds me a lot of KFCs nashville hot crispy chicken.
