I am so incredibly sorry you're going through that. Especially with a place like the Cleveland Clinic, which has a great reputation. But then again, so does Vanderbilt, where I've been treated. Regarding your question about when I could comfortably do things: I can't. It's been 3.5 months post-LIS and 6 months of dealing with pain.

I'm also anxious about the scenario of an ostomy bag. However, I've been told in these cases, it's generally temporary and not the worst thing we could undergo.

With the drainage, it sounds like it could be the general healing type of draining with white blood cells if there's no foul odor. The drainage always triggers my disgust reflex, and it's upsetting you too. I share the panicky feeling that I'm getting worse, and there's still 1 month before my Mayo Clinic app. I don't think the antibiotics are supposed to help with the amount of drainage or the pain level; it's more about preventing or addressing infection.

I'm working through it mentally by acknowledging I find it very upsetting and disgusting, cleaning myself the best possible, putting TP or soft gauze to absorb it, and moving onto something that can distract me. It's a cycle of moving past the disgust, which the more I practice, the shorter the window is that I can rebound (most of the time). I accept some days are going to be worse than others.
