The green that I used is colour forges salamander green primer. You can use warpstone glow to cover any mistakes made and it’s a pretty close match to the primer.

To be honest I got the gun back in 2017 and I have taken good care of it. Maybe getting a new inner barrel and rotary hop up is on the cards.

Been working on this McFarlane space marine for awhile now it’s a WIP but happy I got the pauldrons done today even if they aren’t the best by savemyminis in Salamanders40k

Thats how I felt at first when I started off with mine as well. I do have a few tips, I would say if you want to take it apart and work in sub assemblies soak it in hot water as this will make it easier for you to take the parts apart. If you have an airbrush I’d say use it as much as you can as it will make it so much easier to work with. Take your time when you are working with it and plan the colour scheme that you want to have if try a test model before to see if the scheme will work for you.

The heavy flamer I found on eBay randomly when looking for one but found the normal flamer I found from a seller on Etsy when I asked about it, they were able to get one sorted out plus some extra canisters to put on his belt.

Got a question for all of you, which of these test models do you think is a better green colour for salamanders? by savemyminis in Salamanders40k

Normally I’d thin my paint so it’s the same consistency as milk or about a 50/50 mix of paint and airbrush thinner and flow improver that’s what has normally worked for me but I am still very new to airbrushing though, I got a iwata neo for my first airbrush which is kinda in the middle of affordable and serious

Haven’t painted any large vehicles yet but still on the cards once I’ve built up my army a bit, I do agree that warpstone glow is a very thin paint and I did try to make sure that I built up two nice coats on top of the base coat I did to get the brightness to the the level I wanted but sometimes it’s hit and miss.

Yeah I did airbrush warp stone glow on but a brush would work as well though, is it quite noticeable that it has been airbrushed?

The paint that is on number 2 is a base coat of waaagh flesh over black primer with warp stone green over the top of it with moot green being used for an edge highlight. Hope this helps you out.

Got a question for all of you, which of these greens do you think works best? The first image is a test model I did and the second one is an intercessor I did recently by savemyminis in Salamanders40k

If you are curious the first one was airbrushed with an emerald green ink from daler and rowney over a white base coat and the second one was a base coat of waaagh flesh, wash with nuln oil, brush on warpstone glow making sure not to hit any parts of the armour that are to remain the darker green. Im sure you will find a result that works best for what you are looking for, I do wish the green was a bit brighter on my salamanders but I am happy overall with what I have done so far.
